Firefox add-ons

I love Firefox add-ons, I have many installed and some I just don’t know how I lived without. They are one of the best features of Firefox and allow you to really customise it to do just about everything you want, your way. If you aren’t using add-ons, you are seriously missing out.

What is an add-on you ask? Add-ons extend Firefox, letting you personalise your browser to include a whole range on different features. As with everything Firefox does, they are super easy to install and use. One click, and they install themselves, restart and your good to go.

I use more add-ons than I can mention, and a lot that most would not find useful (web developing tools) but here is a list of some great must have add-ons for every Firefox user.

Stumbleupon
StumbleUpon is great! With the click of a button you can discover tons of great new sites you may not normally come across. Select your topics of interest and click, it’s so easy. Warning, it can be addictive!

IE Tab
Thankfully it is happening less often, but sometimes there are still sites that make you use awful IE. Another simple button, one click and you can easily and quickly view a web page within Firefox. No need to slow your computer with more than one browser open. Very useful for those who design web pages to check on your sites in both browsers.

Fireform
A simple yet configurable form filler. Includes support for multiple profiles and custom field names. Click one button again, and viola, your form is filled. Too easy!

Fotofox
If you use Flickr to store your pics, you will love this one. Easily select, tag, title and upload pictures from your computer to an online photo service. Also supports Kodak EasyShare Gallery. So quick and easy, all within your browser.

Imagebot
ImageBot allows lets you upload your images to a free image hosting service (ImageShack or Photobucket). ImageBot lets you sort, filter, and make image galleries out of your images in a snap.

Gmail manager
There are lots of gmail tools and notifiers about, I like this one because it allows you to monitor more than one account at a time and works with our gmail hosted All for Women emails. Get notified of new emails, and see snippets of new mail.
There is also a simple notifier for Yahoo mail. Sorry, seems hotmail users miss out.

1st Annual All for Women Awards

To celebrate out All for Women’s Birthday (12th of April) we will be holding the first ever All for Women Awards.

Nominations will open on the 23rd of March and run for 2 weeks, until the 4th of April. On the 5th of April the 4 most nominated members in each category will be announced and voting will begin.

Only one vote per member, per category. Voting will be private, and the winners will be announced the night of April the 12th.

Winners will receive an award icon to display in their profile till next years awards. Other prizes TBA

All for Women Custom Search Engine

You will notice a new search box in the header of the fourms. This search box is for our new custom Google Search engine. Over time it will be trained to show results more relevant to quality results for Women.

It works just the same as regular Google, with an AFW twist.
