We Aussies are a proud and patriotic bunch aren’t we? I just love that no matter where you are we seem to manage to form a special friendship and community, like with our blogging. Our lists and groups where everyones a mate. Meg has done a fantastic job of helping to bringing us all together.
With All for Women, connecting Australian Women has always been my main aim. Helping and promoting fantastic Aussie Women is just a part of that.
There are some amazingly talented Australian Women bloggers out there, and I feel so lucky to call some of them friends, and love meeting new ones. I wanted a way that I could let everyone else out there know about them too. So with the help from the top list guru Meg the Top 50 Australian Women’s Blogs was born.
We are going to start out with 50, and see how we go from there. There are so many fabulous ladies there, I’m really proud to be among them, and showing them off. I am sure there are blogs that I have missed, so please send them through. If you have any suggestions or criticisms, let me know too.
I made a button to use on my own sites, but you are more than welcome to use them as well.

It was my pleasure to do it all for you wonderful ladies :). I hope you all enjoy going through the wonderful list as I have.
I’ll be updating the list next week, with a slightly different and more accurate ranking system, and then probably fortnightly.
Carole, here is the little banner I made for myself

Hey Leigh - Great to see the spotlight on Aussie Women Bloggers
And what better place than right here?
October 26th, 2007 at 2:01 am
Hi, Leigh. Thanks for putting this list together! Must’ve taken a bit of work. Well done.
Anyway, I hope you don’t mind me asking how you put the list together?
October 26th, 2007 at 2:04 am
Oh, and yeah, I was asking because I’m curious how you know which blogs were by women bloggers.
October 26th, 2007 at 7:42 am
Hi Shai, Thanks for stopping by
I put the list together from blogs that I had mostly visit or knew of already. Meg also helped add a couple to bring us up to 50.
I know it is very far from complete, but I hope to discover and add more wonderful Australian Women bloggers to the list in each update (like yours!)
It can be hard to find if a blogger is Australian, if it is not in their content or profile details. So for those ladies, hopefully they will come forward and let us know.

Hey Leigh!
Wow. I’m absolutely honoured to be on this list!
I noticed Shai’s comment… and I must admit I’m surprised she’s not on the list too… I’m sure it must be really hard to make an accurate list first time around. Keep it up!
Looking forward to “meeting” more excellent Australian Women bloggers.
Cheers!

By the way, I posted a link on my site, with an invitation to my readers to contact you and let you know about their site (if they fit the woman/blogger/australian criteria)!

Hi Karen,
It certainly wouldn’t be a list without you! Thanks for helping spread the word so everyone can let me know about their blogs!

I am so delighted to be included on this list, how wonderful. It is such a motivator and confidence boost, making me appreciate that my efforts are worthwhile. Thank you so much.

Hi Leigh
I am totally rapt to be included in your Top 50 Australian Women’s Blogs. Between this and Google giving me a Page Rank of 4 today, I am feeling full of bloggy goodness.
Thanks you so much.

Thanks, Leigh. I didn’t really mean to drop hints about me getting included in the list.
Although, of course, I do appreciate the support (thanks, Karen! ;)). I was really just curious about the metrics and process used in creating the list. It’s always interesting for me to find out how such lists get created - as I know that they come about in many different ways.
Anyway, well done again on putting this together. I can only imagine the amount of work that goes in to putting a list like this. So, thanks and keep up the good work!
