Friday Forums in Focus

March 28, 2008

Over at the AFW forums this week, we are discussing Earth Hour as well as how to remember to take reusable shopping bags to the supermarket.

Also, would you want to be friends with someone just like you?

Skippy the Bush Kangaroo …. or Skippy the Sizzling Steak? Would you eat kangaroo meat?

Just reading about Head Lice makes my head itchy. I am not looking forward to this irritating part of school life!

Bring your opinions and a cup of coffee and join us!

Friday Forums in Focus

March 21, 2008

Easter greetings, friends. I hope your weekend is full of chocolately goodness. While you are sampling some of the Easter Bunny’s finest, why not pop over to the AFW Forums for a browse. These week we’re chatting about a range of different things.

The internet can be a funny place, you ‘meet’ all kinds of people, so tell us the truth … do you judge others you meet online?

One of the wonderful, delicious things about Easter is the Hot Cross Buns. Tell us how you like to eat them.

And while we’re talking about Easter food, do you eat fish on Good Friday?

Of course, after all those Easter eggs and hot cross buns, we’ll need to burn off those calories somehow. Love it or loathe it, nothing says ‘torture’ like SPIN! - the excruciating experience that pretends to be a gym workout :P

What Women Want

March 18, 2008

BCG is putting together a book called What Women Want. They are hoping to capture responses on the needs, wants, goals and aspirations of more than 25,000 women from all walks of life in developed and developing countries around the world for their book.

They will also be interviewing 15-20 leading women from around the world about their life stories, their advice on success, their reconciliation of life trade-offs and predictions about the future.

They are hoping to obtain 1,000 responses in Australia and 300 responses in New Zealand within 30 days.

So would you like to contribute to this exciting study? Here’s how you can help.

First, if you are female, complete the survey. The survey itself will take about one hour but please don’t let that put you off because it contains some interesting, reflective questions, and we really appreciate your involvement. The responses are completely confidential and your anonymity can be assured.

We are trying to obtain responses from women across all age, income, education and geographic groups, and would really appreciate it if you can forward the survey to a broad range of women (eg women in your family, your school friends, work colleagues, mothers group etc).

Friday Forums in Focus

March 14, 2008

It’s that time of the week, folks! Here’s a rundown of some of our discussions on the Forums this week.

You know the feeling, you’re doing your own thing, minding your own business when all of a sudden, out of nowhere you become the victim of a random act of unsolicited advice!

But there’s always something to make you smile - even if it’s just reading other people’s *smile* moments on our regular What Made You Smile Today? thread.

Can you help with advice for getting permanent marker out of a school uniform?

We also talk about parenting issues such as dealing with a shy child and some of the stickier toilet training issues.

Mammograms … have you had one? Can you share your experience?

Come and have a chat, we’d love to meet you!
