As we are renovating, we are sleeping in the guest room. It was a very expensive bed and base at the time, and when you lay on it it feels like a big soft cloud ..but that's the problem, I'm light and Gra is heavy so I find I roll into him. Gra and I have had a King size bed for almost 3 years and to have to sleep in a Queen bed we feel so squished, so can't wait for the reno's to be finished so we can have the luxury of a big wide bed again.

We don't like soft beds either, our mattress is really quite firm.

We've just bought a new bedroom suite, tho that is several weeks away as it has to be made. Nothing fancy, just plain in a dark wood. We were going to get a four poster, but couldn't find one we liked, they were either too overly carved and revolting looking ..or if they were nice too look at, they were built too flimsy.

So what do you sleep on? Hard? soft? Double? King? Four poster lol?

Who has a mozzie net thingy? What's your bedroom suite like?

I sleep in my boyfriend's bed which is a hardish mattress on a Queen size bed. The bed in my room (across the corridor) is a hard mattress on a double bed.
We were housemates first which explains why we have seperate bedrooms. They both have metal frames but I really, really like wood frames.

We are both students so the rest of the furniture is a mottled lot of things.

Double!!! :help: We have always had a Queen size, so I am not liking this double at all!!! I cannot WAIT till we get a new bed!!!!!!!!

I want one of the ones my brother makes :) They are made from solid timber, and my Son calls them "Fred Flintstones beds" They are really big, chunky, and natural timber! One day...........

As we haven't been in NZ very long, we are still getting furniture together. At present, it's just mix'n'match. Pieces we have been given, bought, borrowed etc. :)

Go the King, and I don't mean Elvis.

We prefer the firmer mattress, got a new one about 18 months ago, a nice pillow top one. Only problem is I now find it a bit hard to find fitted sheets that fit. But I wouldn't give up our king size bed for anyone....except to share it with the cats. LOL

Is it so unreasonable for me to ask my OH to upgrade to a queen??? First it started off at uni with us sleeping in HIS SINGLE BED for 1 whole year... okay well I was a LOT skinnier back then so that could have helped (actually so was he for htat matter LOL).... Then we got a double when we moved out about 3 years ago... Hmm is it really too soon to get a King? And oh yeah, we have a firm mattress as when I was younger my family were too poor for anything and I had to sleep on two single sloppy mattresses on top of each other which really stuffed up my back so I need something better these days!! I have not got one of those net things I think our cat would kill it as he already does that with the flyscreens ARRGGH. :P

We have a Queen.

I want to upgrade to a new bed...the whole deal, but I don't want to part with our bed because I suck and I hold onto stuff that is sentimental...our kids were made in that bed :P

The one thing I am going to be doing though is buying a pillowtop mattress thingy. I wanted to get a whole new mattress, but we found you can buy the pillowtop part seperate and it goes on like a fitted sheet does :D

Our room isn't big enough for a king, but one can dream :pam:
