Everyone had a Shake

For a new Thanksgiving tradition this year, we made butter. It got everyone involved so it was really nice.

I poured heavy whipping cream in a class jar and we all shook it till it made butter.

When it separated, there was a clump of butter and milk around it.

I poured the milk into the mashed potatoes, and the butter we used for our dinner rolls.

We had a lot of fun. I think we will do it for Christmas too.

maybe for Xmas you could all make some more........but add the Brandy for the Plum Pudding.

How much shaking did it take Gina? I remember my nanna telling me when I was little about how she used to churn butter for hours on end. I wonder if she exaggerated. :hehe:

There were 8 of us and we passed the jar around 3 times, each time we shook it for no more than 20 seconds..
