Ok, so what is your all-time favourite movie? The one you can watch over and over, and never get sick of it?

For me, it's Grease! My Son hates it, but I just cannot help it, I LOVE it!! Never liked Saturday Night Fever, but Grease just had something special. :-)

Two other movies I simply love are: The Sound of Music (yeah, I know, old fashioned. lol) I think I love this one because it reminds me so much of my Grandma, she took me to the movies to see that when I was a little girl. :)

The other one is Oliver! Again, reminds me strongly of my childhood, and going to the cinema with my Mother and Grandma. :)

How about you? What movies do you love, and why?

I think it would be Pirates of the Carribbean and most of Johnny's other movies except Blow - not into drug kind of movies. Also loved Note Book and Grease is pretty cool too :D

Johnny Depp is my Son's favourite actor too. He loves Pirates probably most of his movies. :)

Of the "modern" movies, I like "Knights Tale" and "Troy". I quite like Brad Pitt as an actor. Also like Mel Gibson, "Braveheart" being my favourite Mel movie. :)

Tora, you really like the musicals, don't you?

I'm more of an arthouse type person so I would probably say 'Amelie'.

Semele, as an art-house afictionado, maybe you can help me with this. I saw a movie years ago (maybe 7 or 8 years ago, but the movie was older than that, saw it on video). It was Italian -I think- with subtitles, and was about a boy called Olivier (not sure how to spell it) who disappeared on his bike. He then showed up (allegedly) years later and knew all sorts of things that he could only have known if he was Olivier but there was a twist at the end when his bike was found in suspicious circumstance so you never found out if he was Olivier or not. Anyway, I'm trying to find a copy of it to watch again.

*ahem* - Don't worry, as I was typing this post, it suddenly came to me. Now all I need to do is find a copy.

Edit - and it was French, not Italian and I KNEW that (with a name like Olivier!) I have no idea why I typed Italian. My brain obviously thinks it knows better than me.

À la folie... pas du tout (He loves me ... He loves me not). It was played on SBS a few months ago and it was fantastic.

Well, I have so many favourites, I dont know where to begin....Id say my fav would be The Exorcist (I know, most people think thats strange  ), but I think no other horror movie has come closer than that one to scare me.
I also love Shawshank Redemption.....Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction (in fact, any movie by Quentin Tarantino)......The Sixth Sense, Dragonfly (again, any movie by M. Night Shyamalan)..Just saw The Village, and was impressed.
I also like the oldies, like Its a Wonderful Life, The Razor's Edge, All About Eve.
And now to the musicals (yes, love my music as well)...Fav along that line would be Jesus Christ Superstar (sorry, but was never a Grease fan)...Tommy & Hair (yes, love my rock music. ;) )

My favourite would have to be the Wizard of Oz. It's always been my favourite, I remember watching it for the first time ever back in the late eighties. it was also our very first video-and we still have it! It's an antique but it's still a great picture.

I also love Grease too-I have it on dvd and video. I just cant bare to throw it out, it was a birthday present back in the early nineties I think.

Other favourites: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the first one with Gene Wilder)
The Lion King

Hi All,
Newbie here! Favourite Movies: Tootsie - just love Dustin Hoffman in this, it's a classic feel-good kind of film.

Jaws: Scared the heck outta of me when I was a kid lol! Still love to watch it.

The Crow: Don't usually like violent films but this film is an exception. I always get melancholy watching this film, thinking about Brandon Lee, etc.

The Mummy: Love this flick...the scenery/special effects are brilliant.

Also love Deep End of the Ocean, lovely to watch.

Also the Horse Whisperer with Robert Redford, even at 70 odd he is still a fantastic actor.
