Potter is at the vets today, having all manner of things done to him, poor boy hope he forgives me! ;( When I left him, he was shivering and cowering and looking at me ..so I walked away with tears welling up...

He's getting Desexed, Microchipped, Heart worm tested (if all clear Heartworm vaccinated), his back dew claws (they are double and attached to the bone) removed, vaccinated.. umm I think that's all! The expected vet bill is $450 approx :faint:

He has had a very sore paw when pressed on, he will yelp in pain, and occasionally he will limp. The vet pressed on it and he not only yelp, but he had a snap and growl at him :( so whilst he is under anesthetic he'll get it Xrayed.

Just wondering, as he is an older dog, will his recovery be longer? I guess it would be? Vet thinks he is somewhere betweet 2 & 3 years old.

So, I guess as of today Potter will be officially ours :D

Potter will quickly forget about you leaving him at the vet. Maybe he is scared of males? What is he like with Bra? I know the ferals don't like males at the best of times but males with big loud voices scare them even more.

I hope they find out what's wrong with his paw from the xray as well.

Just rang the Vets, Potter is fine and I can pick him up at 5pm. David had a good feel of his paw when he was under anesthetic and felt it didn't need an Xray, as he could feel no abnormalities ..so will just give him some pain killers until it gets better :)

Aww Pam I am so glad that Potter is ok and coming home soon. He sure has had a very busy day! Hope his paw settles down quickly too. Big hugs to you Potter and to you too Pam for giving Potter a home and a life that most dogs can only dream of!

Pam, glad to hear Potter went ok at the vets. Poor lad, it's not been a nice day for him has it? Still, he will have forgotten all about it in a day or two. ;)

OH, I just got it - Harry and Potter!!! (sorry, not too fast am I).

I'm glad he's back home and fine - hope his foot doesn't take too long to heal. Nice to know he's one of the family now!

LOL Don't worry Naomi, quite a few people have admitted to just twigging why he is called Potter!

When I picked Potter up from the vets he was really groggy and wobbly. I got him in the back seat, had to help him up. Whilst I was getting in the front seat, Potter clumsily climbed through to sit on the front seat. Oh well, poor boy he can sit there. Potter was so groggy and wobbly I put the seat belt on him and he sat as if velcroed to the seat. He even lent his head back on the head rest with his nose pointed skywards. (looked really weird). Anyway, as we drove along he'd turn his head slightly and look groggily out the window at passing motorists, they of course not knowing he was groggy, thinking what a strange way for a dog to sit! And you could see quite clearly he was sitting there with his seat belt on! There were strange looks, lots of finger pointing and giggles all the way home!

Potter has pretty hot pink bandages on his back legs and is asleep on the end of our bed for the night - at Gra's insistence  God, I might as well go sleep on the couch!!

What a great photo of Potter. Umm, where's his head? LOL

Would have been a real hoot seeing Potter in the front seat of the car. Hope he is feeling much better today.

Ha ha, it does look like he's lost his head! Potter has bounced back so well considering everything he had done. All he wants to do is have you throw the ball. He's obsessed with his ball ..the green one, not the missing ones LOL
