Hello ladies,

Sorry I've been MIA for a while, I've been sick, kids have been sick, been busy with my jewellery, been sick, been away, been busy, and did I mention I've been sick.... Anyways, have just been catching up this mornign finally.

Here's the problem, DD (3 in november) has started having nightmares. Last 2 nights she has been frightfully scared and hard to console. The first night she wouldn't even come near Dh or myself and we actually had to wet her face to wake her up as she was crying out in her sleep, throwing herself around. After she woke she, sat in the corner whimpering like a scared little animal, refusing for us to comfort her. We didn't force ourselves on her when she was like that and let her come to us. I started thinkgin she was possessed it was that scarey.

lAst night she was awake, but still hard to console. DH thinks last night was for the attention a she got so much the first time.

I don't know how to handle it with her. I'm not sure whats getting her so upset as she won't talk about it. I'd love some help with this as its quite distressing for her and me. :(

Huge hugs Crystal!! I am sorry, but I have not had that sort of problem with any of my kids, so I cant give you any advice on it. One thing that has helped me when my kids have had a bad dream is to 'suck' it out of their ear, 'choke' on it, then 'spit' it out. Ironically, I was doin this even before I saw 'The Green Mile' or read it. That is the only suggestion I can make at this time, sorry.

Oh that sounds terrible Chrystal poor little thing :( and you, having to watch it.

I too haven't really had any experience with my lot having bad dreams like that. We have had monster problems though.
What I did was put a few drops lavender oil in a little spray bottle, and spray it in the room, under their bed and told them it was monster repellent and would keep them away.

Maybe something like that or what shelli suggested, or maybe dream catcher? It's hard when they cannot really explain what the dream was about, and probably wouldn't believe you if you said it wasn't true.

I hope you are able to find something to help :)

p.s Sorry to hear you have all been unwell. It seems this year, the bugs just keep coming. You get rid of one, and your getting sick again a week later :( Hope your all feeling better now.

Welcome back, nice to see you again, sorry it's not on a happier note tho.

I hope you are feeling better, and that those horrible nightmares your little girl is experiencing go away quickly, it's so distressing for everyone isn't it

We managed to get thru last night without any bad dreams. Thankfully! Hopfully it was just a 'thing', and doesn't come back in a hurry.

I will keep those other ideas for next time tho. The monster spray is a good one to know, that'll fix the little buggers for sure. :)

Glad to hear the nightmares have stopped - fingers crossed they never return. The monster spray is a brilliant idea isn't it :)

So glad that they have stopped!! My fingers are crossed that they dont come back, too.

I was told about the monster spray, too, but never had the chance to make it up before the nightmares set in for moo, so I came up with the idea I told you about!!

We had another one last night. :( I asked her if it was monsters today, she said it was, but really, she agrees or disagrees to everything these days, you wouldn't know for sure.

The hardest part is getting her to "come out of it". Once she stops crying and stuff, she's fine, has cuddle and then goes back to sleep no probs. Its more the problem of her throwing herself around, like she's having a good old tantie, and not coming out of it thats the big issue. Poor little bugger. :( I don't know how to handle it.

Oh no :( I wish I could offer some advice to you.

I'd like to say tho, that I think you must be giving her the right reassurances, love and cuddles when she wakes up, for her to be able to settle and go back to sleep :)

I loved the monster spray idea thats a good one! I hope your little one is better and I wish i could help but when my son had nightmares his dad told him he caught the monster & took him out the back and beat him up, I did not agree with that but for some weird reason it worked!!! Go figure huh boys what can you do Ha Ha ha
