Is your house too big or too small for what you need?

When we moved here October last year, we had a tight budget, so we were looking for a cheapish house to rent. We were looking for a 4 bedroom house, which had a little space for everyone. We didnt allow for the new business, did we? So we now have the office in the dining area, where everything gets thrown onto the desks!!

The kids had their own space - my 3 who are here full time and the baby (I was pregnant, of course) was going to share a room with Amy, after he was born. Not to be!! Amy is now in with Moo and Lenny has a room to himself. There is one room of the house which is just storing lil Pete's clothes!! Nothing else in there, but his cupboards and his old bassinette!! The cot is in our room. Of course, when Pete's kids come to stay, they are in with Moo and Lenny on the top bunks.

Our lease runs out early October, so we will be looking at different housing!! Oh the joy of it! I am not looking forward to that!! But I do know what we need and what we dont need now, so our next house will, hopefully, be a lot better!!

Hi Shelli,

We have a huge house, 6 bedrooms, office, 3 bathrooms ..and somehow I have managed to fill every room! Our kids have left home and it's just Gra & I ..oh and the furrkids! We were going to move earlier this year into a smaller 3 bedroom home, but I'm so glad we didn't.

Ours is definitely too small, when we bought it we only had 3 kids and no immediate plans to have any more. But one day........ maybe we will build more bedrooms ;)

I think ours is too big ... three bedrooms - one for us, one for Hugo and the 'home office' although we have wireless laptops and DH mostly studies in the loungeroom so the office is not used much. We have separate lounge and dining, a fullsized bathroom, ensuite and an extra loo next to the laundry. I'm the one that does most of the tidying so it feels too big to me lol - I guess it's probably not a bad size, but I wouldn't want it any bigger.

ETA - we are only renting, too but if we do stay a while, it will be handy to have the extra space if we have any new family members (of the human or furry kind).
