the teflon coated or stainless steel?
I use both. Teflon are great when they are all shiny and new. The food slides off the pan so easily but after some wear it loses some of the coating. I like my stainless steel frypan as well as you can put the whole thing in the oven.
Any recommendations?

We bought a new electric frypan a few months ago, and it's great. I used to use just normal large none stick pans. But sometimes they weren't big enough, so would have to use 2, or the sizzle tray as well (pain in the arse!)
This new one is huge, and big enough for cooking all our meat and does it well. Or cooking a casserole or something else. It's about all I use now.

We have one of each and I agree, teflon is good when it's new but once it starts getting a bit shabby, not so good (it's now our 'back up' frypan ie, when we haven't washed the other one up, lol). I love our stainless steel one, it's got a really heavy base and cooks things so beautifully. I've never thought about using it in the oven! But have put it under the grill to finish off omlettes etc.
Gotta be non-stick for me LOL
Hi, thought I'd just pop in and add my :2c: worth.
I love my non-stick frypan though I do agree with what everyone else has said. They tend to lose it after a while.
I'm actually ashamed to say I don't even have a stainless steel one but after hearing the praise I might just have to go out and get one.
Have a great day! :)

I have the best pan in the world.
It's a saute pan from Scanpan. They have some kind of special coating on their pans which is very non-stick but you can also use metal implements on. I highly recommend their products, they are just brilliant.
I've only got a non-stick one at the moment, but will look into the stainless steel one too! Never heard of the Saute pans, but will have a look the next time we go shopping. :)
Our pan is hopeless, as it is buckled, so we definately need a new one!

Ok, I've bought a Scanpan and used it tonite. It's a heavy thing, almost need two hands to lift it. All new frypans are nice to use so I guess time will tell.
