Does anyone make pizza at home (gail, I'm sure you must LOL)
I saw this on Neal Perry awhile ago The Pizza Chef (http://www.thepizzachef.com.au) And thought it was a great idea. But for something that I may lose interest in very quickly, thought it maybe a little pricey.
I saw another thing on TV today, it was just a pizza stone, that you put it on in the oven. It wasn't an aussie show, I wonder if you can get them here?

So does anyone make pizza at home, from scratch? How do you do it?

I'd love one of those big wood fire ovens in the backyard, but can't see that happening LOLOL

You maybe shocked to learn that I do make my own pizza and pasta for that matter!

I know I know - it is hard to believe LMAO

You can make the pizza dough from stratch if you want - it is using yeast and so therefore it needs to rise (let me tell you Emm heat pad is great for making dough rise!!) - less the cat of course!

I generally make my pizzas using lebanese bread as the base then just use tomatoe paste and spread that and then whatever topping and there is a pizza cheese mix you can get.

Pop it into a really hot oven BUT put it onto a wire cake rack that way it crisps really quick - about 10-15 minutes n the oven that's it!

If you really want to make pizza dough let me know and I'll give you a recipe but I don't think it's worth the bother - yes I did say that - this is from the woman who will take days to cook something if need be!! :P

Gail, you shock me LOLOL.

I have a bread maker, so thats why I thought it would be easy to do it from scratch. Chuck everything in and press start, I couldn't cope with more than that LOL.

Have tried those premade ones from the supermarket, ewww.

The pizza shop across the road makes the yummiest pizza, he puts sesame seeds around the crust..Mmmmmmmm.. but at $27 for 2 pizza :O . And the other pizza shops :eww:

Yep bread makers can rise the dough too (just be careful that cats don;t get in there because it's warm.

So do you want a pizza base recipe????

When I bought my oven (about 2 years ago) it came with one of those pizza stones, but I am embarrassed to say I have never used it. Want to borrow it Alex????

If I do pizzas at home I use the shop made bases and add whatever fillings. Hubby likes homemade pizza, me I don't care I'll eat whatever is going at the time.

Oh, you got one with your oven, I should ask FIL. He works for Betta eletrical. Thanks for the offer Rell. Though, the urge has passed now LOL, seems like too much trouble, but was a good idea at the time :Hehe:

I opened this thread hoping it was about people's favourite pizza toppings.

I tend to make pizza on lebanese bread or on thin turkish bread (and just for the record, my favourite topping is probably roast pumpkin, boccocinni, baby spinach leaves and pesto).
