My husband mows our lawn. I have mowed the lawn a few times and I don't mind doing it but I'm scared of the bloody lawn mower it's so noisy and you get crap flicking up at you and then I fight with the grass catcher because it won't come off the back of the mower so that I can empty it and then when I do get it off I can't get it back on again. So that's why I just let my husband do it.

Clancy does, with out the catcher if the grass is short enough for him to get away with it.

I do it, and it needs doing abdly, but I keep getting into trouble when I tell people I need to do it ATM, but its like $70 to get it done by a lawn mower dude and I dont have that money to waste when I have a mower and fuel for it

I have a terrible time getting the TT to mow the lawn.........bought him a brand new lightweight mower last April and I think it has been used 3 times since...........once by me (first time ever) to try and shame him into taking over..........he sat on the front steps and watched me............completely amoral that child!
Next year I will look into how much it will cost me to get someone in for the lawn and the pool (shut up Di). Maybe just maybe the TT will feel that he will do the job if I pay him the same amount.

Since moving to our home I do. I don't like the gas mower (Im afraid of it) I like the push mower.

I mow the lawn, always have. I just love getting out there and mowing and just ignoring the kids for an hour. I just can't seem to hear them with the sound of the mower, wonder why that is. LOL

We have a guy who comes every 6 weeks or so to do it. He's great, does a really good job and is very nice ;)

:O Ouch! $70?? I'm glad ours doesn't cost that much or we'd definitely have to do it ourselves. We don't have a huge yard though.

I mow it. I am a bit pedantic about it, don't think anyone else would do the job quite as well as "Moi" :>:

Laughed at your answer Deb, know where your coming from on that one.

I just asked my husband to get the mower down the back steps for me so as I can cut the grass, thinking that he would say it ok dear I'll do it. And guess what he didn't so now I have the worst hayfever I've had in years and it's reminded me that that's another reason I hate mowing the lawn.

Me and I also wiper snip, my mower has a in-built mulcher so it cuts the grass very fine, I do have a catcher but I use that in winter...

I love my mower it was one thing that stayed when the ex left...:hehe:

Great work out. Takes about 20 minutes.

i am the same as Sonnie:hehe: bloody terrified of the mower i always think the blades will fly of & cut my legs of:yes: & my legs are the only skinny bits on me:hehe:

OKAY Heather,!!! have you had a falling out with Santa the pool guy:hehe:

Oh wow Alexa you whipper snip too??? No one could pay me enough to do that, Ive hated those darn things since I was little, my dad used to be a mower man when I was little, used to be scared of the mower til I was about 11. It usually takes me about 3 hours all up to do this place, all the grass and thats only if its short or a reasonable height, when it hasnt been done for months it takes even longer, I spent about 6 hours doing it once cause it was so bad, but I done it over a couple days. My edges need doing badly but I just dont go there LOL

I mow the yard... and whipper snip as well.. takes about three hours to do it.. but it looks sooo good afterwards.. I am very fussy with mowing and when my hubby does it I am like.. no you do it this way.. so it is easier if I do it myself..

Oh Di, you made me laugh again. You are so descriptive I can just picture everything you say but I don't know why I laughed that's a bit yucky thinking what might happen if those mower blades fly off.

can you HONESTLY say Sonnie that you have never thought your legs were going to be ripped off at the knees with them bloody blades, i have even imagined DH knees getting cut off, oh yes Sonnie i really enjopy sitting outside watching DH mow the grass with all these thoughts running around in my head LOL

No Di, but I will now. I seem to be more worried that a stone or something will flick up and take my eye out.

I don't mind doing it but my OH would probably do it more often. We have a pretty big yard so if it needs doing I'll do it as it such a good workout.:)

I don't do lawns - its written in the marriage vows:D :D :D
Hubby is very anal about his lawns anyway and doesn't like anyone else touching them (home or the :soccer: club). So this arrangement keeps us both happy:y:

We both do. Takes ages though as its over an acre in size, has a steep enough hill behind the house and we just have a push mower at the moment. It takes me about 7 hours to do it though I usually spread it over 2 days only takes DH 5 1/2 so i tell him he is better at it so he should do it all the time (dosn't work). Luckily we only have to mow it from April to late September the only good thing about winter. Saving for a ride on mower hopefully by the summer.

Mostly mark atm..........BUT that only after me asking him several times then *telling* him to go get the fuel and oil so *I* can do it ......i usually go to get old clothes on then he says he will do it. Or after he gets the fuel for me ...if the kids are playing up he will BOLT outside and do it so he doesnt have to deal with them.
