yes everything is fine Milo, my choice could have gone with my hubby down to our old home where we have New Years on the beach with all our old crowd but still have not got rid of this horrible flu and he left about five days ago so I was in no mood, friends invited me out tonight but I decided I wouldn't enjoy it without him, these are new friends up here, very nice but not that comfortable with them as yet, and all my adult children have gone to the lakes for a few days,,I wasn't invited you have to be in a certain age group and I'm just a little bit over :hehe:

New Di of course you will go, do you want to end up like me a sad and lonely old fart, drinking cups of tea and sending yourself a text to wish yourself a happy New Year :P go make yourself a strong coffee and wake yourself up

It is 10.49pm here and there have been fireworks going off here since before Christmas. They just don't know when enough is enough - they get irritating after a while as all you can hear is the banging!

I do think New Year's resolutions can't technically be expected to begin on New Year's Day, don't you? Since, because it's an extension of New Year's Eve, smokers are already on a smoking roll and cannot be expected to stop abruptly on the stroke of midnight with so much nicotine in the system. Also dieting on New Year's Day isn't a good idea as you can't eat rationally but really need to be free to consume whatever is necessary, moment by moment, in order to ease your hangover. I think it would be much more sensible if resolutions began generally on January the second. ~Helen Fielding, Bridget Jones's Diary

Happy new yar all!
I told my sons just as it turned midnight that I hadn't been to the toilet since last year. Should have seen their faces, until it dawned on them! LOL
