So how about rude employees??? I hate going to a fast food place and the person is so rude simply because they are depressed that they aren't working somewhere different???? I believe in most cases you have somewhat of an option on where you work by going to school.. continuing your education. If you are working at a low paying job while you're in school.. you can't be mad at the world. I work a low paying job now because I'm still in school trying to better myself. So basically, if you aren't doing something that you WANT to do... do something about it!!! Don't take it out on the world and the customers that you encounter.

so agree with you there, the younger checkout chicks at Coles are sometimes the most rudest, sourfaced things I have ever seen.

Sorry Shaz to generalise, I have edited my post to say the younger ones. My dh thinks i am a rude shopper sometimes (most mums are if they have been hassled enough, last thing I like at the end of a shoping disaster is to hear "how are you today"or "Having a good???")

What I hate is the idiot ones when I got to the shops and pick up a bottle of milk having worked all night and they say "had a good night out on the town hey" because I look tired. Yeah idiot....like I would go out on the town dressed as a corporate frickin tampon for pete's sake!

In general I find most sales people just fine.............but I have come across sales staff in retail electronics who will follow you around like a shadow until you are actually ready to purchase.............then they disappear?
Oh, oh, oh.....there was one jeweller in a suburban shopping centre, for heavens sake, who came up to me and advised there was nothing in the store that would interest me.
Rather taken aback, I agreed with him...........then suggested that his stock was too pedestrian, anyway.

I loathe shop assistants hovering... even if I have money to spend,
I walk out with nothing. They can be so damn annoying.
Then again.. if your dressed down, I hate it when they ignore you. :D
Don't like shop assistants asking " How are you today" when they
obviously don't have two hours to spend chatting. LMAO
Hate it when they chat between themselves, have actually told them to
stop doing it...once..or was that twice. .LMAO
Don't like wait staff hovering, checking to see if I am enjoying my meal..
I would enjoy it if they would leave me alone to eat it in peace..LMAO
ok think thats covered it. :hehe:

My hubby and I were talking about this the other day and both agreed we would go to a shop where they charge more money just for better service. I have been to some stores and been treated like crap and basically have stopped going and bagged that particular store out to everyone I know. I will pay more money for customer service rather than paying less for customer abuse.

i can't stand it when you get to the check out & the girls are talking amongst themselves about whatever & all you want to do is get off your feet or get to the next place, i do like them to say hullo because i am always polite to the shop assistants but i really don't appreciate them asking if i am having a good day or night because most of the time i feel like its just wha they have to say, but i always say thankyou so when they don't i get so pissed off

We had a young girl start with us on a trainee program at the hospital because she thought it would be easier than being a checkout girl. I don't know what she was thinking but she has since gone back to being a checkout girl.
Di next time, try telling them how your day has really been. And it's astounding how many of them just say "wow that's great" when you've just finished telling them about how bad your day was
Having said that there are some lovely girls out there too.

Hubby and I talk about this a lot, he employs teenagers and it has taken ages to get the great ones he has at the moment, any that don't appear to want to be there won't get hours the next week. I can't stand working with the ones that whinge all day, they never last very long and its such a great job, they get paid better than any of their friends.
One thing I have noticed in the last year or so is the mistakes that happen when buying food from a drive thru, have had food missing so many times and often don't get serviettes, cutlery sauces etc.
