Calling all dressmakers!!

Ladies I need some help.

My cousin is getting married in May and her wedding is Formal Attire. I am currently in the process of losing some weight and toning up and therefore think I'm going to have to get a dress made, coz I want it to be made perfect for me. I don't want to show up the bride, but I want to look stunning.

As the wedding is in May and in Tasmania (frickin FREEZING), the dress will need to be long and have something that I can wear over my shoulders/arms, to keep me warm. She is having a dry wedding as well, so I cant even use alcahole to warm me up lol.

Is there anyone that can help??

Mel have alook on all the pattern company sites: McCalls, Vogue, Simplicity & look through their patterns you might get inspiration, or look at fashion sites for inspiration, without knowing your size, body shape, likes/dislikes its hard to give an option

A-Line skirt. Spaghetti straps. Fitted around the chest. Either zip up or corsette back. Blue, black, pink, purple or red. Nice beading or pattern on bodice and somewhere on skirt to match. Size 12.

Does anyone in the Canberra region have a sewing machine that I could borrow? Or does someone in the Canberra region with a sewing machine have some spare time to help me make a dress??
