Yes it is a wonderful deed on Oprah's behalf, but I believe in looking at your own backyard first.............what chance the millions of young girls who live below the poverty line, with little or no education, who use drugs to escape and then become criminals to fund that "dream". And this in Oprah's own country...her backyard.

Once again Heather I totally agree. Also I do not think she should be so discriminating against certain people.

Am trying to say that it is also nice to help your fellow countryman/woman. I think she has made a wonderful gesture but YES it would be nice to help the homeless, poor or whatever in her own country. And yes I know she helped out with that big cyclone last year but she seems to have a set of people in particular who she will help. And YES I am sorry if I offend anyone but it is just how I view it.

Yes she is......but her money and influence could so improve the plight of many poor girls in America, whatever colour, race or creed.
With that help, those girls could continue to improve themselves and others, more so in America than in Africa.....even the most cynical would have to agree that the US opens more doors to the rest of the world.
