The weather pundits were saying that as it crosses land it would lessen in force and provide much needed soaking rain...........as if they need much rain up there.........not enough people to appreciate it.

I was just looking at the weather map and Esperance WA has had 155mm of rain in the last 24 hours WOW I think thats how much we've had in the last year.

Esperance flooded in parts. I used to lice there, well out of town on a grain farm. Doesn't surprise me it flooded, Grace town gets cut off every winter as does Hopetoun.
Esperance has now been declared a 'natural disaster area'. The main road from Esperance to Perth has been cut off due to the bridge collapse and they say that it will be weeks before they can fix it.
We are in the Southeast of WA too, but we only got the strong winds, not much rain. We thought we were going to be in for copping a lot of it, but thankfully for us, it was more to the East of us.

I'm glade to hear you were not too affected by Isobel, Jenni.
Mum and I were down there on holidays when the storm hit. It hit on the day we were leaving anyway so we packed the car in the pouring rain and gusty winds and drove back to Perth through it all.
Lot of damage and tens of thousands of sheep deaths. One farm lost 1000 newborn lambs the first night.

Yes I feel for the farmers, it is not right, why can't it just rain for them with no damage occuring.
