We went for a drive up the mountains today. Showed the girls the three sisters(Did not do the giant staircase as had3 yr old and no drinks on us). Such beautiful views. Then we went to the Leura cascades. Absolutely gorgeous. Nice long walk(remembered drinks this time) through rainforest bush with heaps and heaps and heaps(:jump: ) of stairs. It really was a great cheap day. All we paid for was the petrol. I had packed a lunch. But my legs are still like jelly from the walk. The girls were stuffed but happy.:) :) :)

It is lovely up there, and so easy for us to get to. We often used to take the TT when he was smaller, ..........it always exhausted him.

John used to live near Warragamba Dam when he was a kid. I sometimes wonder why they left...it was rural (I think) when he was little so maybe commuting was a factor. But such a beautiful place! I think I would have had trouble moving from it.

Sounds like you all had a great time. I went there for a visit one time many years ago and thought it would be a great spot to live too.

I do have pictures but they are in the old type of camera. You know like with real film and everythingLMAO LMAO Seriously I took my camera which is not digital(I like the suprise when I get it developed), hubby took his which is digital(but he took no photos) and DD took her digital and lets just say she did not realise her memory was full(shes only had it since chrissy and she is only 8).Anyway when I get them developed(along with the other 6-7 rolls I have) I will try scan them in (?) and see how I go from there.:D

This should give you an idea of how beautiful the area is.....and only about an 2 hours from the centre of Sydney....click on visual experience.

This is the hotel where my Grandmother and I always stayed over 40 years ago.......it has recently been refurbished and is back to its former grandeur.

This is the hotel that a girlfriend and I used to escape to for a couple of days.....lots of antique shops in the area that we used to explore. Whenever the ex, the TT and I went snow hunting, we always stopped at the Hydro for their hot chocolate...........ooooh yummmmm.

Thank you Heather, I love the sites. I have heard a lot about the blue mountians, I hope when I visit again, I will be able to see them. Maybe I can even stay at one of those hotels.

I love the Blue Mountains.

We used to live in Katoomba and my daughter was born there.

If we were to move back over to NSW, that's definitely where I would live. :)
