I can't believe how much of a great week i've had...(besides all the damn work i'm doing...grrr...) I was looking for a new pair of work pants and tried some of the "nicer" shops before going into Kmart etc... and i found a pair that i loved and they fit me perfectly...even the right length..(I'm tall with long legs!!) but the tag said $89.90!! Damn...i shouldn't have even tried them on...now i wanted them but of course wouldn't pay that much for a bit of fabric for work so i pulled myself away from them and started walking out the door and stopped to look at the bargin rack. I don't think they were supose to be on there but the pants i wanted were on there...the only pair on there, still with the same price tag on there!! I checked the other items and they all had a red line through the price to say they were on sale but i thought i should try anyway as the sales lady was standing right next to the rack so i took the pants up to the counter and she charged me $10.00 for them!! I couldn't believe my luck...(i checked them over before i bought them and found nothing wrong!!) I felt a little bad but then again....$90 for a pair of pants is pretty steep!!

It was my Birthday on friday (19th) and all i wanted was my hair to be cut and coloured cuz i hadn't done anything with it since before i fell pregnant with Izzy (2003) so i went to the hairdresser, got it done and then paid for it on my hubby's card cuz it was his pressie to me and didn't think anything of it til a few days later when i was cleaning out my bag and found a reciept for $14.10...for the hairdressers!!!! The girl put in $14.10 into the EFTPOS machine instead of $141.00!! I felt like we'd won the lottery!! So we went shopping and bought some clothes for ourselves since we hadn't gotten anything in ages for ourselves since Izzy was born!! Hubby saved up that money for my present so we weren't out of pocket for it either!!

So...anyone else found a bargin......was being sneaky or was hit by pure luck??

That is some awesome buying you got going there!

I went to Harvey Norman yesterday and wanted to buy one of the tripods they have advertised in their catalogue for $19.95. I asked if the had any left and the bloke said that he didn't order any of them in before the sale because he didn't think they would sell. Apparently they are going like hot cakes (if he were to have ordered them in that is) and becasue he didn't have any in, I got a $49.95 tripod for $19.95 :D :D

I was thinking about this on and off during today and could come up with nothing. Until now. Well, I could say lots about the bargains that I have gotten on e-bay, but there isnt enough room here....hehe.

Last chrissy, the sale at K-mart advertised swing sets for a bargain. I thought that I would go and put one on lay-by, but they had run out!! I got it on raincheck, though, so that was ok. Then, the next sale came up and they had them for even cheaper!! I had not received a notification that they had more in, so I went to try my luck, again. I got there and there was another couple looking at them. While they were talking to the assistant, I politely interupted and said that I would like one, too. Imagine my dismay, when I found out that they could get the last one - fair enough, too - they were there first. So, I headed for the front desk and lined up to put it on raincheck, once again. I was only there for about 5 minutes, when the couple came out and told me that they had decided not to take it after all!! They gave me a piece of paper with the number on it and I took it up to Lay-by. 1/2 hour later, I stood at the lay-by counter, sure that it had gone - NO!! They checked it and it was still there!!

That was a bargain AND luck!!

About 2 weeks after the sale had ended, they then decided to send me a letter to say that they now had a swingset for me.....at the price I had originally put the raincheck in for!!

We got a Harvey Norman good deal last year. They advertised Sims 2 for a really cheap price, so cheap I couldn't believe that it was supposed to be that cheap. Turns out, it wasn't - it wasn't meant to be in the catalogue at all, but because it was, they had to sell it to us, YAY! (That was the day before Hugo was born, and I've only played it once since then so I guess it wasn't such a great deal after all

A couple of years ago I bought an iron from Big W along with some school clothes for the kids and a couple of other bits and pieces and when I went thru the registers it seemed a bit cheaper than I thought it would be. I assumed something was on special that I didn't realise but when I checked the docket at home the iron wasn't on it ( but she had packed it in the bag with everything else).
Now that was a bargain lol

i love iced mocha and keep buying it from the cafe on campus...
its costly and a bugger when u dont have that much cash...
and i realised that the first time i bought it, i got two for the price of one(coz the person at the counter was new..) i didnt even realise it at the time and kept thinking it was rather cheap...
i just had to go the next time to realise that it was pure luck that time.. ;(
i keep having it occasionally... so much so that all the people who work there dont even wait for my order... but pretty ;( .. when they still dont reduce the price of it....for a frequent customer...
