Have you heard this? My Son sent me a txt message yesterday, so I did a google search. Here is what I found:
http://www.ntnews.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,7034,16395230%255E421,00.html

It is an amazing story! What do you think? Is it possible? Or just a hoax? :O

I must say I am quite stunned! Of all the scenarios, this was not one I ever imagined!!! :dk:

WOW!!

Like you Anne, I'm sure most people never thought that there was a possibility that she could be still alive and this could turn out to be a hoax but can you imagine if it's actually true.

I'll be very interested to hear the result.

I too am eager to hear the outcome of this. :)

How unreal would it be if it turns out to be true!?!

Get that DNA test going people...lets see if she is the 'real deal'

I saw this on the news earlier in the week. I'm a bit of a sceptic. I wonder how she can have memories and nightmares of dingoes and being dragged across sand when she was (supposedly) a nine week old baby when it happened. My understanding of infant brain development and memory is that she wouldn't be able to remember/dream about things that happened when she was so young.

Anyway, will be interesting to see if DNA is provided and what the outcome is. If it is a hoax, I think it's a horrible thing to do to that poor family who has been through so much already.

Naomi, I have to agree with you. How devastated would they feel! Imagine getting your hopes up then finding out its all a hoax! ;( I imagine any parent in those sort of circumstances where a body is never recovered, keep on hoping and praying that somehow, somewhere, they will be reunited again with their child. ;(

Yes, the Chamberlain's have suffered way too much as it is. ;(

Here is another article, with a photo of the lass. One report said there was a family resemblance! I just don't see it myself!! :dk:

Do you think it's someone's way of trying to make some quick :2c: ?

I first heard this on the news yesterday, I think, but it said that the claims had been discounted (I think thats the word for it). I am following this story as it unfolds, as, for some unknown reason, I am quite interested in it. Maybe coz its one of Australia's true mysteries......

Wow! I don't see the family resemblance either.

I hope the police do the DNA test & prove it one way or the other. The thing about nightmares - I don't believe that for a second.

Actually I think she does look a bit like Michael and the boys but a big part of me does think that this is a hoax. If you were genuine, you wouldn't be asking for money for your story. You could ask for your costs to be covered, but not to profit out of it.

Time will tell anyway.

Suprising I guess no other fruitcakes have come out and down this before.

I do find it hard to believe that this woman would be Azaria. Very sad thing to do to the poor family it is a money making thing :(

I say do the dna test but offer no money unless it is prooved to be true. if my baby went missing and years later someone claimed to be her i would want proof first.
i hope they keep this up dated.

New member and proud of it.

I don't think it's true, but it will be interesting to see it all unfold. I feel sorry for the Chamberlains this story makes me think about all the times they have probably had people claim to know what happened, where she is etc.

WOW, I was so shocked to see this thread. I had not heard anything in the news about this?

Maybe that goes to show how much truth there is to the claims. Surely if they thought there was a strong chance, it would be all over the news.

Very very sad for the family :(

I agree with you there Anne. I think she Believes she ia Azaria and if her story about the Sect is true then you would prefer to think that you were stolen from your family rather than your parents putting you in that situation on purpose.

I will be interested to see how this story unfolds.
