AUTOPSIES have brought authorities no closer to understanding the sudden death of thousands of birds - including wattle birds and honeyeaters - in a coastal town.

I read this earlier this morning, its a real worry, I hope they find out what is causing all these birds to die very soon.

That is so sad - poor things :(
It doesn't say if any pet birds had died though. I hope not and I hope they find out what the cause was/is very soon.
Wow, what a mystery, poor birds!
I assume from the article, that it is only wild birds.

THE unexplained rapid near-extinction of birds around the WA town of Esperance mirrors a similar mystery mass aviary death in the US a few days ago.

Hope they find out that it was not man made.......and that the birds come back.
I would miss the morning chorus very much.
From what I have read they have so far ruled out poisoning and bad water supplies.
When I was down there over xmas and new year I remarked to my mum quite a few times how many birds were dead by the side of the road - to me it was freakish numbers. Found the articles on the news upon our return.
