Volunteers pay up for helping community

EMERGENCY volunteers sacrifice their time and sometimes their lives but a report released today says they also forgo nearly $1000 each year for the privilege of helping the community.

What amazing people these volunteers are to put their lives at risk to help others. There should be some financial reward for such an important act of kindness.

I can't imagine why they cannot claim all deductions, uniforms, cleaning, phone calls, petrol etc on their tax.
