Just out of curiosity, are you eco friendly and wash your new clothes together with your old ones....
...or do you wash them separately like it says to on the label??? Seems like a waste of water to me...:dk:

Only if I'm concerned the colour will run. Otherwise they just go in with everything else.

oh, and I have to admit, water isn't my primary concern - we use a front loader so a small load in that uses almost no water anyway - I'm just too lazy to do a bunch of small loads when I can do a couple of big ones in half the time.

I agree.........altho' it's been a long time since I had to worry about the delicacy of the fabric.
I usually separate whites, darks and colours anyway.

I do that as well but if it is new and I am worried the color will run I will wash it separately. Unless I have other washing in the same color (red for example) and then I will wash with them.

I just chuck them in with the rest of the washing :) If it is a colour I think will run, I put it in with the dark load.

Stormy,
Why don't you just hand wash your new garment if you are worried about wasting water.

Sonnie, that's what I ended up doing....they are a real dark denim and there is a warning that the colour may run, so I soaked a small patch in the tub first. It didn't run so I chucked them in with John's jeans. I think the colour might have run a little because his jeans are now slightly more blue than what they were :hehe: Doesn't matter because now they just look new again. :D

Exactly the same here if I dont have a dark load I will put it in with hubby's work gear

Depends on what it is. If I think it will run I wash it separate - if it is white, I wash either with other whites or separate. If it is delicate then either on it's own or with other delicates.. I could go on, but you get the drift.

LMAO When we got back from holidays last year, ALL our hand towels and tea towels were pink. The girl who'd been house/cat sitting for us had washed a red towel with them :hehe:

I only wear dull, boring colours for the most part, so I don't really worry about the colour running, so I just throw it all in together
