We had a big day out yesterday at Phillip Island. Left here at about 9am, when my sister and her lot come here. We went to Phillip Island straight away. First thing on the list of things to do was go to Amaze 'n' Things. This place is wicked! Not so much the giant wooden maze, but the illusion rooms are wicked! Forgot to take my camera. D'oh. There is one room where the floor is on a lean and 2 people stand at each end of the room, click the button on the wall, and a photo is taken, and it can be viewed on the screen in the room! One person looks like a giant, where as the other looks like a midget! DH and I were mucking about but I was standing in the middle, but we did get some sort of effect.. Pity I had BIG eyes :o in the photo! cost $12.95 just for the pic!! totally optional.. but it was fun! My sis and BIL and the 2 kids that came with them (2/6 kids) had great pics taken! They were up one end and kids down the other.. and vice versa! Was funny to see BIG kids!! hehe. Also, there is a slide with a difference! No way I was going on it.. You have to hang from a beam and drop.. then ya slide down the big curve part.. but the drop was enough to make my sister nearly cr@p her self!! hehe bit of a free fall sort of thing. any hoo, we spent a while in there working out the revolving picture, jigsaw puzzles on a computer!! That was amazing! Rectangle pieces made it easier!! Another part of the attractions is a bridge that you walk over, with your hands on your head.. and it looks as if it is tipping, as its in a barrel sort of structure, with spinning picture scene.. Tell ya what, ya get a bit giddy! LOL I had a go on the wheelchair! Its bolted to the floor but as you spin the wheels, you go through a passage in a hospital on a big screen in front of you! Interesting! Oh, so much to see and do! The gift shop is full of puzzles and illusions posters to buy. In the cafe, there are tables with puzzles to have a go at. It was chockers when we were leaving, so we missed out on them. Some little turd of a kids that was pushing past us int he maze, got wheeled out ina wheelchair with a hurt foot! That'll teach ya!

Next it was a trip to the op shops! No "holiday" is complete with out that!! LOL found a nice and soft top! Score! Was better to wear than the itchy scratching thing that I wore. hehe After that was lunch at subway! man, that was a busy shop! And the little such-n-such that worked in there, grr.. bugger all toppings!! Ripped off!! Oh well.. got all the subs made, and as they have like 3 tables, we opted to go to the beach park to eat. They forgot to cut DH's footlong sub, so he had to try and eat it without it falling apart! Apparently seagulls like jalepenos?!?!??! Wasn't me!! I just gave them bread! Then after lunch we went on a walk on the beach.. then up to the shops for a bit of retail therapy. My sister bought some new clothes! I ummed and arrred about buying stuff.. Couldn't decide.

Next was spending some time and $$ at the bowling alley! Didn't bowl.. just played some air hockey and arcade games! Tell ya what, they are not like the ones here! The claw machines to win toys had no grip!

Busy busy day.. Went to the beach for a paddle. Hubby decided to get a canoe for 1/2 an hour! What a blast that was! I've never been in one! So we paddled around in that for a bit and then in the water later on. By this time it was about 5:30pm. Was a bit cold! Oh yes, first time wearing my bathers, and as I was walking along to the spot where we wanted to sit and play, they were riding up and up my back side! ::) Might have paid off to wear my underwear.. may have had some grip!! LOL any my tankini top rode up over my love handles! Out come the singlet top!! ::) covered up myself! LOL

Ended up getting changed to head off to Grumpy's mini golf! My sister noticed that the security tag on her new top was still attatched! ??? ::) So i headed off to get that taken off. Got to the shops and it was shut!! NOOO!! I looked in the window and saw the staff there, and I held up the top with the tag and they let me in and took it off. D.A.T.!! LOL I saw that a shop across the road was open so I popped over there to get something warmer for the penguins trip.. got some trackies.. hipster variety!! YAY! And a top....Oh yes, the water slide was packed as was the mini golf earlier in the day, so we waited til later.... I kept score as there was a few people there, but not as many as before... Kids went along and did any hole that was free!! LOL Not worried about being in order.. the score card kept tally. Dh won! WOO HOO!!

Then it was off to see the penguin parade. We saw in the brochure that ya needed to book. Not to worry, we'd have a look to see if we could get in. Decided to just go to the gift shop, as it was a bit pricey. Couldn't even do that! Had to pay to go to the gift shop!! PASS!! Ended up going back to town and we noticed that the carnival was in full swing, so we thought that we could get some tea there.. The men had to go back to town to restock their wallets!! LOL In the mean time, we bought some tickets for rides. Its $1 a ticket, but there was a bonus buy, 25 for $20. Got that and some kids went in a giant blow up worm thing. They were out in like a minute! In that time, a lady showed me what was inside it, via a video on her mobile. Looked like lots of fun! Asked the kids why they ran through it!? No reason! ::) There were 2 "thrilling" rides!! At $7 and $8 a pop, decided to give them a miss! The $2 giant slide was thrilling enough! LOL I got airborn a few times.. bit scary for this old duck! LOL Took some video footage on my mobile of others going down, but forgot to save it. Ripped off. Had some hot chips to eat! YUM. Miss J was going on the little piggy ride.. Cute, I thought, got my phone out again, and when she come around the corner, I saw her crying! Big baby! LOL Oh well.. one lap for her!! she also won a big fish on the clown faces, and a little princess toy set, which is broken already! ::) boys won some junkie things as well. MrB won a big foam shooter thing off the shooting gallery! hehe. He also went on a ride with DH, think it was the first ever ride since he was diagnosed nearly 4 years ago with epilespy(we put it down to food allergy, he's never hat a seizure since) he enjoyed it!! Had a ride on the DODGEM cars.. not bumper cars.. at the end MrJ and I got sandwiched inbetween 2 cars! Whiplash!! ARRGGHHHH

By this time it was getting late. On the way out we got a BIG tub of fairy floss!! Went into town again and had some late night pizza! That hit the spot!! In the pizza shop, they had FREE aracde games! COOL! Was in the mood for more games, so we headed off to "Outterlimits".. Arcade game heaven! LOL But not as good as the bowling alley at home!! They had a very dodgy claw game.. the claw didn't even touch the toys!! Kids had fun on the 20cent game. Put a coin in, it shoots it up into the playing area, where they build up, if they get knocked off by the sliding part, you can win your money back, and more! Miss J was on a motor bike ride! Got footage of that! Then she stacked into a wall, so I hopped on the bike and raced the rest.

By this time it was well after 10! Time to go home!! Dh must think that he's racing, as he'd try and take corners that had a 55kph recommendation limit, at 80kph! >:( One corner was ok, but the next one got tighter.. wasn't happy. Then another corner didin't even have a limit, and he was going straight for it. I said SLOW DOWN.. There was no way that we'd make it if I didn't say anything.. was soo peeved at that.. wasn't a good way to end a cool day out.

Glad u had such a good "holiday".

That sounds fantastic. I want to go to Amaz'n'Things now too! There's something like that on the Gold Coast, unreal! I'm living in VIC too now and I was just talking about it all to my girls dad, he's asking where 'Phillip Island' is, and how far from Melbourne? I still don't know where places are in Melb, it's quite ironic really because I could get around Brisbane and the Gold Coast with my eyes shut but I'm totally lost in Melbourne, and I'm bloody living here!!LMAO LMAO

I took my partner there for a visit as he didnt believe we had penguins in Australia. I also took him to see the koalas there as he hadn't seen one before and we took a nice little cruise to see the seals. There is really something for everyone to do whether it be on an overnight or a day trip.

I am glad you had a great time.

I honestly had no idea that Phillip Island had so much to entertain the kids.......always thought of just the penguins and a few years ago the motorbike racing.
What is a fun day without a few problems anway.
