I have to admit, I wasn't going to have a party for Hugo's first birthday (in one month - EEP!) but now I feel, well - it's his FIRST birthday, I've got to do something. Maybe a morning tea, I can invite his baby friends (well, my mummy-friends, lol) over just to celebrate that we've made it to one year.

Anyone got any first birthday stories, suggestions etc ... ?

We had a party for Hayden's first. Went all out, well minus the jumping castle, pony rides etc :rolls:
Emily (shh don't tell her! ) We were moving house on her 1st birthday, so we moved it till the next weekend and had a party/house warming then.
Katelyn, well she got the raw end of the stick, and just had a family round for a cake.

I don't really see the point in going nuts, they won't remember it, or how many people you had there, or how much you spent. Your morning tea sounds like a lovely idea, and you could have something special during the night with Dad.

I actually know someone that did the jumping castle, 100+ guests etc..for a kids 1st Birthday :O

My brother has only one child so each birthday he has a party. He usually has it on a weekend and invites their friends around and a couple of Aaron's friends from creche. He loves the whole catering and cooking stuff so there's lots of food and of course a cake.

Your idea of morning tea sounds good for Hugo's 1st birthday. You get to see your friends, Hugo has a play with some little friends, a bit like a play group get together. Are you going tomake him a cake?

I don't think I'd even KNOW of 100 people to invite, even if I wanted to, lol.

Make a cake??! Oh dear. I'd also better start saving for his therapy in 18 years then.

I know, I wouldn't have 100 people to invite either and who in their right mind would WANT to.

pft, make a cake.. you don't either floria LOL. That's what bakeries are for,Michelle's patisserie make lovely kids birthday cakes :) Tho Hayden and Emily beg for ice cream cake now.

Sadley I had to work on my son's first birthday and wish now that I could have been there for him more than ever. If I were you I would do something for it even if its just your family or your mummy friends. It is something you can not get back if you miss it
And happy birthday little one :D :D :D
