Has anyone seen the movie The Queen? I watched it last night and Helen Mirren did a fantastic job. It really felt like you were watching something that maybe you weren't meant to be seeing - and it was a fascinating insight into the goings on between the queen and parliament in England surrounding Princess Diana's death.

This one is on my list....but no-one wants to see it with me.
Yes Michelle I really enjoyed it she was great wasnt she?
Some of the characters were a bit comical I thought Tony Blair reminded me of Mr Bean (thats just me)
I really enjoyed it I found myself sitting smiling through it quite a bit!

Great article in this weeks Who Mag about "older actresses" like Meryl Streep (who I think is brilliant) Judi Dench and Helen Merrin...
It also talks about how for the past 10 years or so the women that has won the Oscar for Best Actress has been under 40, like Reese, Hillary, Nicole, Hallie, Julia etc.

Now that's interesting - I hadnt looked at it from that perspective. You would think it would nearly be the opposite as their acting skills get better over time and they are probably more likely to do the best job of their career (ie give an Oscar winning performance) when they are older.
