Do you have a plan, or pre paid? Who are you with?

We have used pre paid for years, previously because it was easy, and no scary bills. But lately, I think it probably works out cheaper. We always purchase our own phones outright.

We're with Virgin pre-paid. We aren't heavy users, and its mostly text and calls between us.

There are some great capped plans particulary if you know appox how much you use each month. You pay a fixed amount and regardless of the amount of calls you make you that's all you pay for the month. I think there are $59 and $79 capped plans about, maybe Vodaphone.

We buy phones outright but that's because work pays the bills for calls/service etc - well, not for me now but it used to. I need a new phone (have a four year old Nikia that turns itself off randomly and has a battery life of about 3 hours - without use) and will buy one outright and use pre-paid (I don't use it enough to need a plan with all the extras, it's a waste of money).

Oh, and I WAS with Tel$tra for work (govt contract) but will probably go with a different telco. Anyone else, actually.

I used to be on a Vodafone plan and the bills were astronomical. I switched to Virgin prepaid and the least amount I spend is $15 dollars because that's all I really need.

I have a Vodafone prepaid, suits me I don't use mine that much, mostly text messages. I've only had a mobile phone for about 6 months- if that :D

I have been on Optus plans for the last couple of years. Never had a problem with them. I used to be with Telstra but I'd get charged say the normal $45 a month and then they would add all the sms charges on top. So I changed to Optus as they combine the two so that suited me better and now only pay $45pm.

I used to get a new phone every two years through a contract.

This year I've come off the contract and have just signed up with Optus for the $49.00 a month cap plan. My mobile phone bills have been all over the place this year (I guess it doesn't help that my boyfriend lives in Sydney during the week :( ) One month the bill would be $35.00, the next it would hit $110.00 :faint: . So now I can go a little crazy and don't have to worry about getting my next bill. :P

I used to be with 3 but found that I couldnt get much coverage on the Sunshine Coast, but had great coverage when I was in the city areas.
I transferred to a Optus capped plan and found it heaps better for me. I only spend $50 a month but get like $230 worth of calls which is great for me.
