Sad news today I am afraid, poor Snowy (the mother of little black Gollywog) had to be put to sleep today, she tried to jump over a fence and caught her leg and broke it badly, too badly for it to be saved.
I am very upset about it and said to Adam that we arent good at this animal game(meaning that I couldnt handle having animals put down) but he made me feel a little better by saying it is because we are so good at it that it hurts so much when something horrible like this happens.
R.I.P Snowy . ;(

Patricia, that's so sad, poor Snowy. I agree with Adam, you are SO good at the 'animal game' because you care so much and that's why it hurts. I hope little Golly is okay, doesn't miss his Mama too much. RIP Snowy.

Oh Patirica, Hugs to you, I'm so sad to read this ;( poor Snowy. Will you be able to raise Gollywog ok without his mum? How often do kids have to have a bottle? Or would Pip & Squeaks Mum adopt him?

Thanks everyone for all of your kind thoughts and hugs. The Snowy ordeal certainly freaked me out for a few days. Gollywog has been better than I expected....cried for a while the first night and then we put her in with the twins and their Mumsie who were bossy to her but let her sleep with them. Mumsie won't adopt her now or let her drink from her but the fact that she tolerates Gollywog sleeping in with them is a good one.
I have been feeding Golly a bottle...took her a little while to get the hang of it....kept chewing the teat the first few times. Now she guzzles it down so fast she almost sucks the sides of the bottle in.
Last night after i feed her she lay back in my arms like a baby and went straight to sleep...I will see if I can get a pic of it tonight...such cuteness!

I'm sooo sorry for your loss Patricia   It's so upsetting when you lose a pet. I'm glad to read that Golly is settling in better and that she's drinking milk from a bottle.
