I just went and saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (there wasn't a lot of choice, it was either that or Wallace & Gromit - ahhh, school holidays) and I really enjoyed it. I actually liked it better than the original movie, the story line was vaguely more complex and Johnny Depp was a great Willie Wonka (better than Gene Wilder IMO).

It was actually funny, I laughed quite a bit through it (and I think I'm becoming one of those people who used to really annoy me who laugh with abandon in movies regardless of if anyone else finds it funny, and I don't even care!).

It was a bit of fun, and the best part was, I had a baby-free break! (I love my boy but we've had a hell of a week with separation anxiety and I needed some time out).

I saw it the other night and didn't really like it. I found it quite boring in parts.

I haven't seen it yet. I was thinking of waiting until it comes out on DVD.

We saw it a couple of weeks ago and I really enjoyed it as did the kids. I've never really liked the first one but this one with Johnny Depp was really good.

It must be all the orginal die hard fans, it just isn't the same when they go and wreck it LOL.

I'll just have to leave the room when the kids are watching it, as they really enjoyed this one, never really got into the old one. It must not have been colourful enough for them.

Yeah, but I didn't really like the 'original' movie because it wasn't as good as the book which is probably why I liked this one more. It was more 'Roald Dahl' than the first movie. Kind-of darker and zanier. I don't know that kids would like it as much or get some of the humour though.
