I had a wardrobe audit yesterday and 80% of my clothes were thrown away :faint:
They were either too old, too small, too whatever and I hadn't worn them in years. It's so empowering to get rid of them all!!
Now, I need new clothes! I have almost nothing to wear!!! I think I need to have a clothes party or 2... anyone want to come? ;) hehe

I really need to do this, face the reality that my body is no longer what it was pre-baby, apart from which, most of my wardrobe consists of office clothes (so not only do they not fit, I wouldn't wear them anyway). I am surviving on jeans and t-shirts at the moment. I really hate clothes shopping, though.
I just did this with my kids robes & now have a list of things to make for them for summer. Just got the spotlight catalogue also so off to go shopping................(mail order that is)

I am terrible, I have bags of clothes that we drag from house to house. No real reason for keeping them, but seems a waste to throw them out LOLOL.
I have no clothes at all, I keep telling myself there is no use buying any new ones just now as they shouldn't fit for much long...but the excuse is going to wear thin soon :(

I hate going clothes shopping, and I have an excessive amount of clothes 99% of which do not fit, but that I refuse to get rid of because one day they will fit me again LMAO NOT. There are some things that I will never get rid of like my year 10 formal dress- I know that I will never wear it again even if it did fit- and I can't see my kids wearing something so old fashioned lol. I also have the dress I wore to my nannas funeral 16 years ago that I cannot wear again and am unable to get rid of:blush:

Hi all, how'd the clothes party go?
I am too like this, although with me, I think I don't realise I am getting older and will never wear that leopard halter top out to a club again!
I look at them all and go, but I MIGHT wear it again!
LOL

You mean I'm not the only one who has heaps of clothes she never wears any more, wears the same thing all the time and badly needs to get a new wardrobe? :)
I love clearing out my closet, it's buying the new things that is a bit wearing (sorry about the pun!)

My closet is full of clothes that don't fit me but I don't have the heart to throw them out just yet. I tend to just get by on a few items of clothing that I wear over and over and funnily enough it doesn't really bother me that much.

I haven't had a clothes party yet - and I'm still losing weight! I need to have one in a couple of months, though :) I'm running out of clothes again!

its not like I ever change size..
I'd love to be you! :)
i love thowing out clothes and buying new ones but i wasn't born rich and didn't marry money. i do tend to wear the same thing though, if i find something i like i'll buy mulitples in different colours. one mum at school last winter kept saying to me "why don't you buy a nice dress" wich translate to i know you like your pink cords but we are getting sick of seeing them. i do tend to wear miss matched colours, you can't miss me size 10 i hate you , in nice way, i don't think i'll ever see that tag on my clothes again.:crying: ;( :argh: :help:

Well I just went through my clothes and have hardly anything left either.
Mind you, all the things I have just bagged were never worn :Hehe: so it just looks like I have nothing :P

Hey a clean slate! That's what I'm doing with my clothes at the moment, going through and bagging the ones I rarely wear. Unfortunately there are a few really nice outfits that I can't bear to part with!

Same I have a few outfits that I will never chuck out cause they hold sentimental value. It's not like I'll ever lose enough weight to fit into them. But I still keep em

I even still had my maternity clothes :Hehe:
I did originally keep them for my sister as she was trying to concieve when I had my first son. Unfortunately she is still trying and I think they are a little out of fashion now.
I tend to be a bit of a clothes hoarder and kid myself that I will fit into that slinky size 10 pantsuit that I wore in my 20's and before I had kids.
I am starting to get better though and have managed to "let go" of some of my treasures to the op shops.
Op shopping is a great way to go if you don't have much money. (Like most of us probably). You would be surprised just what you can find. The best strategy is to dedicate and entire day to op shopping and plan your route.
Either go online or the yellow pages and find out what shops you want to go to and work out a travel route. Some churches also have their own op shop's.
I found a fantastic CUE design top in a church sale a few months ago. Black, slinky, cross over, swing style (to hide the hips and tummy), sequins under the bust line and it cost $4.00. It looked like it had never been worn and it probably would have cost around $60.00 new.
Some great kids clothes too. I got Ruby a little white skirt with pink and green flowers over it for 50cents and it is her favourite right now.
There are also plenty of factory outlets around too, so source them online or the yellow pages and get shopping.
I don't worry about holding off until I've lost weight before I buy clothes. I used to hate buying/shopping for clothes as I was not very good at it, however, op-shopping allows you to make a few mistakes if you get it wrong and then you start to know what styles, colours etc suit you.
Get a few essential pieces that you love and look good on you and build around them.
Accessorise darling. It is amazing what a few bits of jewellery, a bag, shoes and some hair clips or a hat or belt can make to an outfit.
I have finally figure out what looks good on me. My shape doesn't really change anymore, just my size (I go up and down like a yoyo), so I tend to get lots of stretchy things that can cope with weight gain or loss. You can always wear a long chunky necklace a brooch or drape a scarfe to hide stress points in shirts, pants etc.
Have fun shopping!!!!!:x

I enjoy a bit of opp shopping occasionally - have to be in the right mood to go rummaging though :)

being a size 10 is one thing, but having a size 5 foot is not so much fun, womens shoes don't come in 5...so I have to shop in some kids shops...like for sneakers and sandals, and wait till I go overseas for ladies shoes...(went crazy last time I went to Italy...and Hong Kong this time I am trying Singapore)
when I go to the states in May,,,hardly taking a thing and only wearing one pair of shoes, as I plan on spending $2,000 on clothes...can't wait...hanging for a well made, black leather jacket...and some long dark brown boots...and some GAP jeans that fit..and are not too long...and just whatever takes my fancy...
