I have some formal dresses I'm going to list on ebay & was wondering if anyone had any tips.

2 were bridesmaids dresses, though only 1 looks like it & the third I bought for a friends wedding. They've all been worn only once.

For formal wear, what is a good starting price? They're all retailed between $100-$300.

It's a tricky question as you never know if you are asking for too much and then, if you have it too low, it could get snapped up for next to nothing.

What I usually do is put down what I'd pay for them (if I was buying them from Ebay). If it normally retails for $100 and has only been worn once put $50 on it. If you think that is too much put $30 on it and maybe have a buy it now option for $50. If you don't sell it, then think about reducing it some more. Some people on Ebay are really out for a bargain - some will pay if they think it's worth it, other's won't.

Have a look on Ebay and see what price similar dresses are selling at & go from there.

I got my bridesmaid's dress off E-bay. The chick said that it cost her around $120 and she had a bid start at around the $50 mark. She also had a Buy it Now price of about $80, I think. It was only worn once, too. I bought it straight away......it looked like a bargain for me and was way under the price I was looking at paying for something that would only get worn once or twice by Lee.....she is not a dressy person.

It was a bargain....a lovely dress!! Exactly what I was looking for!!

Hey Melissa - how did you end up going with these? Did you put them on ebay?

Not yet - we had an event last week and have another on Saturday that are HUGE! I haven't had a moment to think about it yet! I'll do it next week...
