Does anyone do this?? I do and I love it.
If you are interested let me know and I will tell some great sites to join FREE, people who live in the country can get stacks of work. It is great fun and does not impact on your life and you can pick and choose.

I tried it a few years ago and didn't get anything really decent. Mainly take away places :(
As you say, it would be great if you lived in an areas where there were hardly any shoppers, you would get all the good jobs.

I so couldn't do this job, I hate talking to shop assistants. I hate it when they approach me and I'm just browsing. One jeans chain (shall remain unnamed) in the City was so overenthusiastic - think MULTIPLE sales-people asking if they could 'help' me within a few minutes *shudder* - that I've never been back to that store again.

Naomi, I think that;s why they have mystery shoppers.... ;)
I have a friend who did it for a while, she didn't get many jobs, but had fun.

Ladies,
Try this site:
Gapbuster, you will need to register and they don't pay as well as others but you don't have to pay tax, they do companies like McDonalds (you earn about $11.00) but you will spend about $5.00 so really you make about $6.00.
They also do Bob Jane T-Marts and you have to make a phone call, this you can get paid $4.00, these are always popular and very easy.
The great thing about this company is that you can pick and choose who and when you want to shop, they also do Myer, Shell Service Stations and Bi-Lo and Dusk, so go on line and type www.gapbuster.com.au and register...
Now depending on which state your from I do know of others, let me know if you want the names of all the others as I work for about 6 companies. Some are better than others and some are bloody annoying about paperwork, so if you are not big on paperwork and can't work to an 8 hour deadline, then I suggest you don't do it, cause they will drop you very quickly, they have a very high turnover, sometimes also they are not understanding and they can be very hard to work for if you have an emergency, but I have been doing Mystery Shopping for about 5 years and you go through phases, I might do 20 a month or I might do 2. It can be a lot of stuffing around and for very little money but if you feel you are getting something out of it and most importantly enjoying it then keep going.:D
My ex sister-in-law got me into it but she finds it too hard with 3 kids, some, (like banks you are not allowed to take kids with you) a lot have a set time limit and a set day and so this can be hard, but once you get going you will either love it or hate it, not everyone's cup of tea, but life is about trying new things, so what have you got to loose. :)
Basically you need to remember things, like the person who served you, name and details (ie colour of hair, colour of eyes) what store is located on the right and left of the store you are Mystery Shopping, timing is also important, sometimes you are required to purchase something and sometimes you are not.
Have a go and let us know how you go...
All the best - Alexa

Mystery Shoppers basically pretend to be customers to check how well the business serves it's customers. We used to get them quite regularly when I worked in retail when I was at uni. In our case, they were hired by the centre our store was in, and the mystery shoppers went to the different stores and reported back to centre management.
