I need to hire a marquee (just a small one - around 300 x 300) but have no idea where to get one. I was looking on Ebay but they are a little out of my price range. Does anyone know where I might be able to hire one (in Melbourne)?

I'd have a look on CitySearch or Yellowpages for either marquee or party supplies :)
Is there a party supply shop they may hire them

A lot of sporting clubs have them now too and some hire them out for a bit of extra fundraising. Would probably be a bit cheaper than a party hire place too.

Thanks guys - I will look. I was hoping to borrow one but haven't had much luck. Although, I can pick up a cheap one at bunnings for around $80 so I might be better off buying one.

Do you have The Warehouse down there, or Homeart. I have seen smallish type ones in their catalogues for under $100 too.
You having a party, can we come? LOL

Barbara, if you're only going to use it once, and do end up buying it you could probably sell it on eBay when you're done. I imagine you'd be able to get back a fair bit for a 'used once' marquee?

You having a party, can we come? LOL No, I've paid to have a stall for Utterwhish at a yearly festival we have. We have literally thousands of people come through for the parade & stalls so I thought I'd give it a go. But 90% of people who have a stall are enclosed in little marquees. I just didn't want to be sitting in the middle of the road behind a table :Hehe: .
you could probably sell it on eBay I could do that. It all depends I suppose, if it works out, I'll keep it & may use it again.

Oh, sounds exciting Barbara, let us know how you go :)
I just got the Warehouse catalogue and they have 3x3 ones in there for $30.

Thanks Leigh - I'll check them out.
The marquee at Bunnings has an aluminium frame (which kind of looks like lattice) so fingers crossed that the warehouse has the same one.
