I'm just curious what kind of music you all listen to? I am a HUGE Metallica fan! They are amazing live! But I also like Godsmack, Powerman 5000, Rob Zombie and Iron Maiden (also both very cool live), Buckcherry, Twisted Method, the Rolling Stones, Korn, Eminem, Static X, ACDC, Blue Oyster Cult, Rammstein, and Sublime. I'm just curious if anyone else has similar tastes in music. :)

eminem makes me laugh with some of his lyrics.. but other than that I like
most music played today. I know a few words of smack that..LMAO
My fav music of all time is the fifties, it was pretty romantic, and I like that.
(Thats because it was the music of my days growing up) I think the music you grow up with is always special.

I'll listen to most things, but I prefer things I can sing along to. Hubby and I have quite different tastes - he likes anything you can't understand enough to sing along to :D

I like most things except death metal, techno and doof doof music....you know the stuff that rev heads listen to at deafening volumes while waiting at traffic lights. I don't know why they assume that everyone in the suburb wants to listen to their music. :brow:
I listen to classical music of all sorts, particularly the ballets. I love love love Nigel Kennedy (violinist), regardless of what he is playing. I also like Acker Bilk (clarinet) and Kenny G (saxophone). My neighbours hate that I like any of the above. LMAO
I love motown, R&B, pop, rock, musical soundtracks (South Pacific, Miss Saigon, Les Mis etc), Enya (not sure what genre she is) and so much other stuff. I used to think I hated country music but I like Lee-anne Rimes, Garth Brookes (Patric you would be so proud of me, I actually have one of his albums now LMAO), Trisha Yearwood and Keith Urban. So I guess I like country music selectively. :hehe:

Mel,
My DD likes MIKA too
Stormy,
I know what you mean about the doof doof, it's shocking. The young guys drive around Brighton with it blarring out of their cars, all the while they're trying to pick up girls. LMAO
Hmmmm music..........I don't like techno, heavy metal, doof doof, and the ones that scream at you. I grew up with Tom Jones, (mum played him a lot), South Pacific, (the movie too). As a teenager there was the Carpenters, Carly Simon, Helen Reddy, in my early 20's Dolly Parton and John Williamson.
Now I'll listen to most music, but I won't name them, not that there is a lot of them, but I'm shocking with names of singers/bands. If I like the song I'll buy the album, and I only listen to the radio when I'm in the car.
I like most genres with the exception of classical, opera and heavy metal.
We have collections from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's.
My all time favourite is Country, with collections of Lee Kernaghan, Dixie Chicks, Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, Alabama, just to name a few. :) Love it so much that I even took up Line Dancing a few years ago, which was lots of fun. (Pity I can't do it anymore)

Oooh, I love music! It's on constantly here from the moment I wake up til I hit the sack. My favourite band is t.A.T.u., closely followed by Ranetki (they're both Russian bands). I also like Within Temptation, Milk Inc., Evanescence, Michael Jackson, Killing Heidi, Shannon Noll, Melanie C and The Dresden Dolls.
Quite a variety really.

They always do that around here...now really, if I'm in my car in traffic with the windows up, AC on and my radio going and all I can hear is the doof doof doof coming from three cars down and it's giving me a headache, then it's really much too loud. I shudder to think what their hearing is going to be like when they hit their thirties! :O

hmmmm my tastes are very weird apparently(well according to my kids & their buddies) as one minute i might be playing all 80's stuff, yep i like to be stuck in the 80's a lot, or i play nirvana, faith no more, alice in chains, linkin park or nickleback, dont really have a fav love them all in their own way.
(its so cute when i see the kids & their mates singing loudly to the 80's stuff then that get all shy like nah it wasnt me LMAO )
I love all sorts of music from country to pop to heavy rock. I will say though that the new Korn album that is live and accoustic is one of the best albums I have heard in a very very long time. It is awesome!

talking about music i made a cd up for my car the other night.
All i had written on it was Mel's CD & hubby thought he would take it for the drive to work. he got home & said what the hell is that CD about, Could you not make it one type of music.. it was so funny for me as on that particular CD i have only 2 bands.
1. Hinder - Extreme Behaviour
&
2. Micheal Buble - Call Me Irresponsible
now everyone will know Micheal Buble but for others Hinder is pretty heavy rock type.
You have to picture this:
so hubby started listening to it in the car with windows down & sunroof up sitting at a set of lights cars everywhere, Hinder (which he thinks he's cool listening to it) cranked up, it then cuts into Micheal Buble & didn't realise until half way through the song & everyone next to him was staring at him & smiling:hehe:
I think he was so
i told himthats my stressed out cd. When i'm stressed out i put my headphones on listen to Hinder & dance around, sing, scream & then i listen to Micheal Buble to settle down again & bring me down to earth, Makes sense to me.....:hehe:
In conclusion i think my cds will be safely left at home from now on!!
Still LMAO about it
Mel
I like lots of different sorts of music. Pop, jazz, blues, hillbilly, rock 'n' roll, country rock, some classical stuff and some r & b.......examples: The Doors, Credence Clearwater, John Butler Trio, Cat Stevens, Van Morrison, Neil Young, the soundtracks from O Brother Where art Thou and Cold Mountain, JJ Cale, Andrea Boccelli, Carole King, Eddi Reader, oh there's too many to even remember!
It's easier to say I'm not a huge fan of rap, head banging heavy metal or Country & Western (though there is some I like).
LOL about your hubby Mel!
