Saw this last night and I have to say that it was excellent, not your typical "girlie" flick, has much more substance and a great story line.
Toni Collette is fab, but Cameron Diaz, this is the best movie I have ever seen her in, she can actually act in this and does it very convincingly, you could even take your husband/boyfriend/partner, the story is very good, and in some parts there was not a dry eye in the house.
I would give it 8.5 out of 10.
Cheers

I am looking forward to seeing this one Alexa, I am glad you enjoyed it.
We saw the shorts of it the other day when we went to see 'Must love Dogs'...took Hubby along expecting some whinging and whining that it was a 'chick flick' but we both really enjoyed it. So if you are looking for another light, fun, feel good movie to see I could recommend this one too! :)

Hi Patricia,
Yep I saw Must Love Dogs the Sunday before with my ex-sister in law, she and I thought it was lovely, I pretty much go each Sunday.
Today I am seeing Pride and Prejudice, always something to see, anything that is light and easy (hate horror or being scared).
There are heaps of new ones coming out soon that look great like, Elizabethtown (with Orlando Bloom, he was on Oprah last night but that is another story!) and Kirstun Dunst, very light and lovely. Also coming is The Family Stone with has a fantastic cast, like Sarah Jessica Parker, Dylan McDermont (he is gorgeous), looks very funny, but not slap stick. SJP plays this stuck up New Yorker and goes to meet her boyfriends family out in the sticks and how they react to her. Looks very good.
I love the movies as you can escape one's very boring life ;( .

I am also the same. The last few movies we have seen have all been kids movies - Madagasca was the last one. We really wanted to see War of the Worlds at the cinema but just never got around to it. Have to wait now until it is out on DVD . . .

Yeah but ladies you all have kids and husbands...so your time is precious...my girlfriends hate me cause whenever they want me to come over to hang and we go to the video store to hire somthing...I have already seen it.
Also going to the movies is expensive, $14.50 for an adult ticket.
I don't pay that price, I buy Hoyts Hot Cash off people from E-bay, normally buy say 10 tickets for about $90.00, that is why I go so often.
My dream job would be a movie critic, that would be fantastic to go the movies and be paid, always watch the movie show on the ABC on Wed at 10pm with David and Margaret.
Saw Little Fish the other day with Cate Blanchett, I cannot say enough, but it is better than Lantana and I thought that was brilliant.
