Don't you just love handbags?

I am a big fan of handbags of all kinds and can shop and shop...We were in Australia for a holiday in December 2005/January2006 and bought 5 various handbags..:D I wanted to buy more but couldn't fit more into our luggage as we already were a bit overweight ( i had done a fair bit of shopping...:hehe:

I am looking around for a new handbag atm, but can't find anything I like here (Sweden). Then I had a look around at varius Australia stores and found so much I wanted....:d:

My husband don't understand why I need them all - "you never use them" - but I do, but it depends on what occasion: one is for work, one for going out, one for summer etc...

So, any more handbag fans out there?:D

Yes.....before the TT's arrival, I had a life that I felt required a matching handbag for each pair of shoes which matched various outfits.
Now unfortunately, my collection consists of 2 evening (now never used) one good black, one good blue (also not used much) and one big everyday bag.
I can relate to you.....whatever your DH's passion is (apart from you:hehe: ), I'm sure he has matching or seldom used items.....no difference really.

I am on the market for a new handbag. My latest one has handles that will break any minute! When I first started on EBAY I won two really nice playboy handbags with matching coin purses for one cant each from Hong Kong, however I didn't realise the postage was $29.99 each, so I was spewing that my 2c bargain ended up to be $60.00!!, and didn't use EBAY again till i learned the ropes!

I only have three....one silver one with matching shoes (that some folks here have seen), a black one with matching shoes and a day to day one, black leather. That's all the handbags I plan on owning.

But luggage is another story...have a bag for every occasion in that department!! :yes:

i must be the odd one out...........what new LOL I only have 1 its a betty boop one i made with my name on it. Rare occassions we go out at night Bob has the money in his wallet & I dont take a bag

I love handbags, when I went to Italy, I bought 6, from wonderful leather and there fantastic, I use mine all the time, change everyday for work depending on what I am wearing and if I am going out at night, I have trunk that your meant to use to store towels and sheets but mine is full of bags...heaps and heaps of bags in all colours and sizes...

And shoes don't even get me started...obsessed beyond normal...LMAO

I too love handbags, my last one i bought from Target:yes: , it is a beautiful Italian soft brown leather, it was originally $130 but i got in in the post Chrissy sales last year for around $90 or so, love it.

I have 3 pair runners, 4 pair slippers, 15 - 20 Thongs/sandles, Knee high boots, electric blue Dr martins, 6 pair high heels......

All you handbag/shoes/accessories addicts - I work in these areas so get to see all the new stuff we get in every day!!! It's great. My biggest bargain ever was an Oroton bag $350 RRP I got for $30! Yep, $30 :) I use it everyday for work its awesome. The leather is very nice. My advice to everyone don't ever buy full price ;) :dance3:

I LOVE LOVE hand bags! im a little obsessed lol, however there something resisting my obsession and thats lack of money lol. Fortunately I do have the patch tote Coach bag, Chanel tote, turquoise Prada bag, LV bag, and a couple cheaper guess and dooney and burke bags!! If anyone knows of good sales that ARENT knock offs please let me know! :) thanks

Yup! A wallet is a pocketbook, but purse and handbag mean the same thing. Unless you use are using the old saying "She (or whomever) controls the purse strings," meaning the money.

Here a purse is the thing you put your notes and coins and credit cards in - similar shape as a wallet but obviously because we are women who cant minimise - bigger than a wallet!!.

Handbags are the things you put your purse into, along with everything else you cant possibly walk out the door without!!

Clutches are small slim handbags - generally used for "nights out", they dont usually have a handle or strap.

i only ever have one handbag at a time, i tend to use it till it starts falling apart, or until i have a need for a different size.. recently bought a new one to fit the EeePC in.. :)

And my latest aquisitions are from Paddy's Markets in Sydney!!!! I got myself some beautiful handbags...that look like the real thing!! I've had so many comments about my bags!

The other day i was in this exclusive shop in Fremantle, and i bought this absolutely beautiful top, which was really expensive!!!!

And the lady in there said, "Oohhhh i just uuuuuvvveeee your bag!!!!" (I'm sure she thought it was the real deal) and i just couldn't help grinning and thinking...Well, i love it too, but it was $20 from Paddy's! LMAO

I said, "It really is gorgeous isn't it!" and flashed her a big smile! LOL

Yep, i love my bags! That was the one thing i missed SO MUCH when i was backpacking and dind't have a decent bag amongst my belongings!!!

Ohh...I have big ones, little ones, expensive ones, el cheapos, of all kinds and colours! LOL

Don't get me started about shoes!!!!!! LOL The only thing is..my best friends in the shoe department at the moment are MBT's and they aren't quite a stilletto are they?

CB, I hope its better than what it has been over the past few seasons. Another reason I stopped working in handbags and moved to cosmetics was because of the continually boring styles we kept getting (then again it could be something to do with the Buying Office for Myer). I really really pray that some funky ones come out this year or I will just have to shop elsewhere for my handbags! :hehe:

I love my one and only Black Guess Dr. Satchel Handbag. Cost me a good $220 when it first came out but i still love it to this very day. Its a nice size, has a crocodile leather look but in pure black and has silver/gold studs all over. Its better then it sounds! Have had it for 1 and a bit years now... i think im in love!

I am however looking for a white handbag now... Im thinking Bluebird... they are pretty :)

I was like Zen until very recently and had only one purse until it fell apart. However, for me that was due to lack of funds and the fact that no matter how much I liked a purse, I tended to abuse it horribly when I'm out and about! Still do actually. :haha: All those purses were plain, practical and always black or brown because they went with every piece of my limited wardrobe.

In the last couple years though, I have been grabbing really cute small ones when I see a really good price and recently found 4 in a thrift story that appeared to be brand spanking new - all for $3 to $5 a piece! Plus, while things are still really tight money wise, I have discovered colour in my wardrobe and purses. When I was still able to work, most of clothing budget went into mix and match business wear so everything was white, black, great or tan. Hated it then and don't know how I will ever cope if I have to dress like that again!

You see, I've discovered I like colour, lots and lots of colour. Not loud large prints, or neon shades, but nice blends of pinks, reds, greens, turquoise, teal, blue and so on. I've also discovered that I like pretty colourful purses too!

Don't really care about name brands though - not with purses or clothes. I buy what I like, is reasonably comfortable to wear and is within my budget. Also, because of ongoing back problems for so many years, I finally got smart and will only buy little purses now as no matter how determined I am to not fill it full of papers and junk, I always do in the end! So now even when one is overstuffed, it doesn't kill my shoulders or back. Easier to clean out too simply by virtue of not having the room to put so much in them!

YES!!!

They're all wrapped in their little cloth bags and kept in a storage system so they don't get dusty or stained. I came back from England in June with 9 new bags :blush: My husband calls me the handbag queen & then he brought me back a Coach from Canada in July :)
