I heard noises in the courtyard and didn't think too much of it, actually I thought it was the wind blowing the pebbles. I take to look see out the window and this is what I find.
It was a rather large water monitor. He got into the courtyard but couldn't find his way out again. He was pacing and getting crosser by the minute. His neck was puffing up. Trev finally managed to open the side gates and he went toddling down the road and hopefully back down to the river.

Oh wow - that would have been interesting. It looked quite big too, I probably would have been too scared to go outside in case it came running at me :Hehe:

Wow!! he does look big!!
Reminds me of the time when I was a kid and one just like that one was in our back yard. We chased it and it got caught in the back fence!! Our back fence was about 6' high at the time....to keep the dog (German Shephard) in and was the old wire rectangular shape. The poor thing got his head and one front foot stuck in there and the bloody dog was going for it!! Mum - being the resourceful person that she was - had to, very carefully, cut the wire so that it could get through. Lucky the block behind us was vacant!! He/She just scurried off into the sunset - never to be seen again!!
Glad yours got out with no damage done - except maybe to it's pride and they got heaps of that, so they will soon get over it!
