O.K everyone knows that I am addicted to TV and well we are coming into the worse time of year as far as anything decent to watch goes...

What am I going to do...get a life my sister would say...mmm, so I have decided to get off the couch and go for a walk and do some gardening, but at 8pm at night, still there will be nothing on...i hate this time of year, bring on Feb, with the return of ER, Medium, All Saints and McLeods...

Still I guess I can watch Nip/Tuck...weird show but man it is addictive...Gilmore Girls and Judging Amy and I guess 3rd Watch...but really there is bugger all, just as well there are heaps of cool movies to go and see.

Maybe I'll get Foxtel, NO, then I would never leave my couch.

I personally dont mind the summer viewing on tv. I look forward to the change in programs!! I also look forward to the re-runs, where I can catch up on some that I have missed during the season before.

I must admit, though, there is a period where it just gets a little boring. I cant remember whether its before Chrissy, or after, where nothing seems to be starting and nothing seems to be ending and there just generally isnt anything on to watch!!

I wouldnt mind getting daylight savings - we would be able to do a little more. But, it would not change much around here. The kids would still be having tea at 6:00pm and going to bed around 7:30pm (with Lil Pete going to bed whenever he is tired, but usually around 6:30-7pm). From about 5pm to then is pretty busy, getting tea ready and the kids bathed and all that, so it wouldnt change much, 'cept that Pete would probably work for a little longer and I would have to cook tea.......:faint: NO!!!! I dont want it anymore, now that I have said that!! :Hehe:

Well Shelli some of wish may come true. I was reading in the paper the other day that John Howard is thinking of bringing Daylight Savings in nationally, so that everyone gets the benefits, he also wants to start it earlier (like earlier Sept) and I do think this part would make a lot of people happy. We had it earlier in Sydney in 2000 for when the Olympics were on and it was great. I wonder what QLD will think and if there cows will cope and if they will have to change there curtains more often???:Hehe:

LMAO I do remember having it when I was a kid. Just the once though, as a 'try out' sorta thing. Cant remember it having much of a difference, though, but, then again, I was only a kid and we havent had it since....hmm....might be a good thing, though!!

I'm looking forward to Strong Medicine on channel 10. It was on during the daytime a couple of years ago & I loved it.

We don't watch a great deal of TV shows (other than All Saints & Blue Heelers) so it doesn't really bother me. The best thing I like about Summer TV is the Cricket. I love the cricket & there is nothing better than sitting down on a hot day to watch it.

ME TOO...I am going to the cricket in Sydney for one of the day/nights, love it, the atmosphere and everything.

The Third Test is meant to be on today...

I would love to go to a cricket match - an international, not just a local - but that would mean for me to actually plan a holiday!! Although I dont like the game, itself, I would love to have a feel of the atmosphere!! I reckon it would be addictive.

My mum used to sit down in her lounge in the lounge room and watch the cricket, when it was on. She used to know all the batsmen, as they were coming out onto the field, just from their walk!! Her favourite was Simon O'donnel!! Winter time came and she used to sit and watch the footy.

Now that H & A has finished for the year I can feel myself getting sucked into Headland :Hehe:

I love watching most sport ( not Golf:eww: ) so I don't mind Summer telly. I will get to go to the SCG in January to watch my friends son play in the NSW U17 team. I have been nagging hubby for years to take me to the cricket:D

Hey Barb

I too love the Gymnastics, just watching the uneven bars and the poor French girl fell twice, poor thing, the chinese always do so well, heard one of them is 19 years old and weights 33kgs, gosh that is tiny...

I also love the ice-skating, I remember being really little and my gran taking me to see Torvel & Dean and they were just magic...gosh that must be a hundred years ago...well maybe 20 years ago

I'm over ice skating...my sister is a former ice skater. It's the finals tonight for Gymastics, is it both for women and men? Doing the Rings must be so hard, as well as the beam.

Doing the Rings must be so hard, as well as the beam I totally agree & the flexibility of some of them is amazing.

I used to do gymnastics (many, many moons ago :Hehe: ) and my best routines were the beam and parrallel bars.

My parents stopped taking me though (can't remember what for)

:Hehe:...I would have watched it but the Gymnastics were on. Who won what awards?

Alexa
29-11-2005, 10:33 AM
Hugo Weaving won Best Actor
Cate Blanchett won Best Actress both for Little Fish

Noni Hazelhurst won for Best Supporting Actress
Anthony??? someone won for Best Supporting Actor for Look Both Ways

Best Director, Best Picture : Sarah Watt for Look Both Ways...(her husband is William McInnes who is also in the picture and was also nominated for Best Actor - was brilliant)

Sorry but Wolf Creek won nothing, and neither did The Proposition, good really as they are way too violent. But just my opinion...though Guy Pearce is fantastic in the Proposition...

Yes Russell Crowe did a fab job, he was very good and kept things moving along...that always helps...

Shane Borne won for best actor (he is in MDA on ABC)

Pity that Oyster Farmer didn't win anything...I wanted Steve Bisley to win...

So glad that Look Both Ways won, it truely is a fantastic movie and such a lovley story...so glad it bet Little Fish, it is good but so morbid, brilliant acting and all, but it was a bit dark and also a little slow I thought...

Thanks for that Alexa...I love Hugo Weaving, he's a great actor. The first movie I saw of his was Pricssila, Queen of the Dessert. Sorry if I spelled that wrong. :jump:

Watched Third Watch last night - forgot how much I love that show! Looks like they are gonna re-run Numbers, too! How cool is that? Missed out the first time, coz something else was always on!!

Now.....if only we had a TV that wasnt an ex-motel one and able to be programmed, so that we can watch something and tape something else!! PITFA!!

No...but I did watch Surface. It was OK...kinda short though. Should have been a two hour premier.

Grey's Atamony are showing repeats which is great as I haven't seen all of them.

Alexa

I watched Ghost Whisperer, she is very pretty Jennifer Love Hewitt...her husband is goregous...I can see why it would be big in the US, Medium repeats are on tonight, and I forgot to watch Judging Amy....does she get married or run off???:Hehe:

Gilmore Girls is my favourite and I wish they would bring back 7th Heaven.
