This week Coles has exercise equipment advertised for sale in their catalogue.
So this morning I drove into my nearest town to have a look at the exercise bikes. Well I was VERY disappointed..to say the least. Apparently each store in our surrounding area was allocated 1 yes..read it again girls..ONE bike.
What an absolute joke COLES..why advertise stuff that you can NOT supply and can't (or won't) order in for customers.
This is really, really bad form...in fact I think it is misleading advertising.
Big BOOOOOO for Coles everyone!

Aldi does the same thing Patric....they will advertise say BBQs in summer for $150 - really nice hooded ones for doing spit roasts etc. Then when you get there you find out that they only had one to begin with and it sold five minutes after they opened. :td: I've since found that if they do have things on special like that, then you really do have to be the very first person in the door on the day the sale starts.
Personally I think if they are going to do that they should explicitly say in the catalogue "only one available per store" or specify the quantity if there are less than five to ten available.
Edited to say - Booooo to Coles from me too. :td:

Maybe a call to the Head Office and the Fair Trading Board...or whatever agency.

Well thats pretty crappy. I would have been mad too!
Isnt that called baiting or something & they arent supposed to do it? I would complain to them both by phone & n writing & also ring dept of fair trading & report it. Thats how they continue to get away with things no-one reports it

Good luck Patric, but I think they will have done the least they possibly could while not actually violating the law. I *hate* it ... it's happened to me at Toys R Us, Target and KMart ... I just assume now that I won't get anything on sale like that. I bet they let employees have first dibs on good sales anyway so they probably didn't even get the stock on the floor :brow:

That would have been so annoying. I definitely would be making a complaint.
I stopped shopping at Coles years ago cause I didn't like their practice of removing every similar product from the shelves when they put a product on special. I hated not being given the choice to buy what brand I wanted and was forced to buy the brand that was on special.

I hate to say it but WOW does it too...and I hate it...I hate telling customers there are none left or worse still that they haven't even arrived in Mackay yet (they are in the SQ stores but haven't been shipped north yet)...BUT we do take names and numbers and put them aside for customers to pick up if they want to...
We have the problem here too of catalogue deliveries...some of Mackay dont get their catalogues til half way through the sale...so by the time these customers get into the store we are sold out...
