My american staffie and her boyfriend german shephard have decided to start peeing on an area of the garden that's covered in pebbles. Now everytime the wind blows from the stones towards us it stinks of urine - ewww!

Does anyone know of something that can be applied/sprayed to the area to get rid of the smell? Our family room windows are right above the stones and I can't open them or the smell gets in the house. :eww:

Pet shops have bottles of odour remover, but they can be expensive.
I know that you should use an enzyme based detergent on urine smells in the carpet...it might be cheaper to buy a box of BioZet (laundry powder), mix some up in a large spray bottle and saturate the area...shouldn't hurt the plants.

BioZet hey, that sounds like a good idea. I'll have to hunt down where I can buy a large box of it. I might try Kmart or Big W or something like that, they usually sell large bozes of detergent.

Thanks!

might be an idea to to ask the vet for something to sprinkle around that area to stop the dog's from weeing there, do you have a grassed area ? that would be better for your furry friends lol

Vinegar is good for getting out pet urine smells as well. I've used that in the past on the carpet and it worked a treat and it's cheap.

Thanks for the great suggestions, our little jack russell is a pain - he doesn't like to go out in the cold... and is very sneaky. Hopefully vinegar will fix the odour!
