When (oh okay, BACK when) I was 18, having permed hair was all the go, (yeah, yeah, it was the 70's) so off I went to an expensive hair salon in Melbourne. My hair is superfine and not very thick ..so the end result was absolutely horrid, more like a tight afro frizz :faint: . Of course I paid, bottom lip quivered a thank you and walked out. I didn't have a car back then, so as I walked to the train station, I looked at myself with horror in every shop window! I even started to cry ;( I was so devastated (sad ey)! Boarded the train, and sat seemingly staring out the window, but was actually staring at myself in the window's reflection, mortified. So, I got out at the next stop, went to the first hairdresser and asked if they could straighten my hair. When did you have it permed? I was asked. Umm, about 30 minutes ago. OMG No Way your hair will fall out sorry no can do. So walk to the next Hairdressers, ask same question, but bend the truth just a little and say it was permed 30 days ago. Fine, take a seat. I did wonder if my hair was going to fall out, but hey, I figured bald was better than frizz! They couldn't completely straighten my hair, so was left with a soft wave. Perfect! Would you believe the end result looked great! LMAO Got back on the train and continued my journey home smiling at my reflection. Btw, I was feeling too embarrassed to tell anyone what really happened!
I'm sure most of us can relate to having a really bad "hairdo", that's just one of many I've had LOL
