So it's now officially winter :brr:....the time when we sit down at night with a nice hot fattening cup of hot chocolate, right?
Budget a bit tight this grocery shopping and with my taste buds cold and yearning for just that, I thought I'd try Ovaltine's Light Break....most impressed especially as I love malty tasting drinks....and much better than the usual Jarrah Chocolatte...actually tastes thicker if you know what I mean.
All this and supposedly 99% fat free ...when made with water. :coffee:
I'm very happy with the product....easy and quick to make, and no sludge left in the bottom of the cup.

ah yes .... when made with water :hehe: I always add milk to mine. I don't mind the cadbury chocolate powder (not low fat though!).

The building I used to work in in the City had a fantastic cafe at the bottom, they did brilliant hot chocolate, served as a glass of steamed milk and a small jug of melted belgian chocolate. I swear, several kgs of Hugo's pregnancy weight was due to those calorific delights (I went off coffee in the worst way, and the hot chocolate was my replacement kick start in the mornings).

I also love, love, love the hot chocolates at the Lindt shop in the City. Oh and when we were traveling last year, Simon took me to the best little chocolatier in Paris for the most amazing hot chocolate ... poor Hugo was asleep for that trip, he'll never know what he's missed!

Ahhhh hot chocolate, a topic near and dear to my heart (and waist :()

Know what you mean Naomi....
I used to make mine just so:

2 tsp Chocolate powder (the proper ones...not cocoa)
1 dessert spoon of vanilla Ice cream
Cup of milk
Marshmallows

While milk is warming on stove, stir the powder and ice cream until thick and liquid....when milk is just steaming (do not let it boil) pour into cup and stir to mix.
Add marshmallows
Enjoy.

Hot Chocolate - Yummy! We used to always buy Alpen Blend (I think it's by Nestle). I also like that Ovaltine Light Break and lately we have had Cadbury Velvet which was very good too. I prefer them if they aren't pre-sweetened as I don't usually have sugar. My every day way of making it is like an instant coffee with boiling water & added milk. All milk for an extra treat1

Milo girl here too!

I have Milo every night, usually about 3 cups.

I am a coffee addict and drink quite a few during the day, but if I drink them at night, I can't sleep, so it's Milo. I love it made with milk and marshmallows, but that is very rare and saved for a special treat.
