Baby dumped at church door

A NEWBORN baby girl with her umbilical cord still attached has been found loosely covered and "very cold" in a small box by a pastor at the door of his church.

This is one time when I have trouble finding the necessary compassion for the mother.....that poor little mite was found barely covered, in freezing conditions, in a cardboard box amongst other cardboard boxes....almost overlooked.
Whoever abandoned the baby seemed to show very little concern for her wellbeing...a fact obvious to the authorities...the baby will be going straight into foster care pending adoption ( according to one media report).
Very different to the circumstances surrounding the last abandoned baby.

That's very sad. At least the baby survived.

The way baby Joan was abandoned was different to that of Catherine's abandonment. I can only imagine that the mother's had very different circumstances. For example, an addict, or someone mentally ill, might be less inclined to consider the conditions she leaves her baby in. Happily baby Joan seems to be alright, hopefully her Mum is too.
