I thought we'd never have to contend with this again, but I was wrong

I was hoping that seeing as Nudge was no longer allowed outside (because we have moved to an area that is very dangerous for cats to be outside) that he wouldn't get into any fights with any of the local cats.

Well, I was wrong....

Last night Nudge decided to "protect" this house by having a fight THROUGH THE BLOODY WINDOW in the bedroom - scared the hell out of us. Then he was all tangled in the blinds and nearly pulled them down.

Then I look out the window to see who he was "fighting" with and this really scary looking cat with the blackest eyes was just staring at me - freaked me out a bit in my almost sleep state :hehe:

Definitely not something I want to wake up to again

We tried to lock him out of the bedroom then but he kept banging the door and meowing really loudly so we let him back in. Luckily he only did it once.

:fx: he doesn't do it again.

Has this ever happened to you (through the window)?

Is Nudge a Tom?...I thought desexed males didn't bother with cat fights...or maybe I have just been lucky 'cause my male cats were content to lay around inside...

No can't say that has ever happened to me, scariest thing I have ever woke up to is my reflection in the mirror, but you have to admit Barbara Nudge makes a dam good watch dog protecting your house like that  How did he know another cat was out there do they smell their scent

I think cats are like people...some are scrappers, some are not.
Barbara...maybe plant or spray some citronella around your window to deter the cat from coming back.....try lemon juice in the meantime.
Sandy...trust the cat flap is now closed at nights?

All the damn time!! They fight the dog next door through the fence while in their cat park because it has the audacity to bark at them while they are sunbathing on the hammock. They aren't the least bit scared of him, perhaps because they know there is a) a fence there and b) the dog can't get in the cat park and c) if it comes to it, they can sound a retreat and run back in the house.

But they are fiercely protective of the house. There is a stray puss that comes sniffing around sometimes and Mojo and Rosie have both decided that there is not enough room for yet another cat. So they have fights through the screen door or if the door is shut, through the glass.

No Teena, he isn't a Tom - he was desexed when he was 5mths old and we have had him now for nearly 13 years.

I think it is probably because he only ever knew the one house and all the neighbouring cats but because we have moved its all different to him.

Heather, that's not a bad idea - I didn't think of doing that - thanks :)

Barbar I thought you were going to say that he had seen his own reflection in the window and was fighting with that.

Our dogs and cats often see themselves in our big glass sliding door and put on good turns thinking they are seeing another cat or dog...LMAO

See the animals are almost as crazy as the owner LOL

I hate cat fights. My three do go outside, but they normally stick to the backyard where they just sit and sun themselves on the pavers. For a few weeks now, a bobtail has been coming in the yard and my oldest male cat and him sit there and make such a racket at each other. They even fought one day and it was pretty scary to begin with but in the end it was pretty funny, cause they both had hold of one another and neither would let go....looked like they were giving each other a big hug. Luckily neither were hurt.

My daughter bought her cat with her when she moved back home with my grandson,Fluffy is fantastic with people lovable, friendly but get him near any other sort of animal and he goes feral.Which makes it hard on my girl Bessie who is the gentlest cat going has not got a bite in her human or animal, he tried to kill her the first time he saw her.She now virtually lives out side only comes around for a feed if Fluffy is locked up, her ex was supposed to have him but he reneged.
