Does anyone here know someone that has been in movie?

I was at gym this morning and one of the instructors was telling me that he was leaving in 6 weeks which is a huge shame but then he said it was because he had to go to Cairns for 6-7 months for a movie he is going to be in. It's a Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg movie called "The Pacific" and he has got a few lines in the movie. How cool is that?!?!

It's a war movie and he is playing the part of a soldier (of course LOL) - can't wait to see it. I think it's going to be one of those mini-series movies that will air on TV (not a big blockbuster).

Still, it's pretty exciting for him :yes:

My friend was in the Ned Kelly movie years ago, the crap one with Heath Ledger. She didn't have a speaking role though.

I do not know anyone that has been in a movie,but my daughter was little her friends father was an actor and we used to see him in ads on T.V. and bit parts in series.

Yes, instead of Mae West vests on boats....it could have been Di vests (LMAO no that really doesn't sount quite right).
The ex was in the movie with Keith Michel as Captain Cook...if you get the chance to see it, he is the helmsman behind Cook at Milford Sound (?)New Zealand waiting for the sister ship, Supply (?)

I know plenty of people who have been extras on films....one guy I knew a few years ago even listed the highlight of his life as saying "arrrrghh me hearties" on a movie...it had pirates in it and no, not Pirates of the Carribean, I"m thinking some kind of porno film because he never did tell me the name of it. LMAO

I wonder if I'll see any filming done while I'm up there. Don't care either way really but it would be a novelty I guess. :hehe:

My friend was an extra in Queen of the Damned and we all got free tix to see the premier at the Sidney Myer Music bowl in melbourne. I have a lot of friends in the acting profession but it is mostly local theatre. I still go to support them and its usually a free night so thats a bonus

I don't 'know' any celebrities personally but through my work, I have met a few well known people/sportsmen...etc. Also, my nephew's Aunty is Sophie Formica and I regularly see Ranger Stacey from Totally Wild at the local shops. Not really movie stars, but that's the closest I've gotten.

I know lots of actors but have only ever been an extra in one film.

It was when I was living in the US in the late 80s. It was a bad "coming of age" film - you know the kind they seem to make every year over there - set in the summer between high school and college.

At the time the 2 leads were basically unknown - Courtney Thorne Smith went on to Melrose Place and Mariska Hargitay went on to Law & Order - but back then Courtney was in a second rate sitcom playing a live in nanny and Mariska was just "Jayne Mansfields daughter".

Myself and my friends got to be extras in a party scene and a jail scene. We wore very glamorous 80s party dresses (I felt like we were in Dynasty - such huge padded shoulders).

Later when I saw the film at like 3am one morning - I realised we were probably playing hookers !!!!!!!!

But its still my only claim to fame as an extra !

I only know my DD's friend, who is currently an extra on the new Hugh Jackman film being made in Queensland. I think it's called "Australia".

My dad was an extra years ago and the movie was recently on pay tv. Not sure of the name but I think Macus Graham was in it.

My mum and I was an extra in a movie but it hasn't come out. It's a bit of a saw spot for my friend as she and her mum where going to be extra's on this movie and they needed extra people so mum and I went along this day and we where picked instead of my friend!!!!!
