I think that there are far worse names out there! It is a little unconventional and it isn't a name I would choose but each to their own!!

Incredibly selfish.....
"Pat said he and his wife felt that any difficulties 4Real encountered would not occur until he was older - at which point he would be well equipped to deal with them.".... So he is already aware of the fact that his son will be teased...what is he going to do, turn his son into a thug and a bully himself so that he is so well equiped to handle the situation. Children do not understand reasoning between each other.... they do, however, understand brute force.
I admit the reasoning behind the name is rather cute....but heavens above...it is for their own personal choice....wouldn't making 4Real a middle name be just as personal.
Could it be that Dad is already a bit of a bully....used to getting his own way....and doesn't like interference in his own schemes?

On a lighter note....yes I can imagine a parents consternation at Drew Peacock...but hang the bother....I would be changing it quick smart LMAO

Certainly not a name I would choose. That poor little boy is going to have to put up with heaps of teasing if they manage to register that name.

It could be a lot worse. The gut from 'my name is earl' named his kid Pilot Inspektor. Then you have Apple, Scout, Peaches, Fifi Trixibelle, Tigerlily, Roumer and many more so perhaps by the time these poor kids grow up they will not be regarded as having a strange name.

A boy at school used to call me Rachet instead of Rachel...

Not nice folks! A little cruel.

They should name the baby something more normal. "4Real" could merely be a nickname. A very easy solution.

The baby is so cute and to have a name like that would yurn the poor kids into a green mean fighting machine.
Can you imagine some kids is going to be talking to other mate saying ........are you for real... and that poor boy will turn around and say yes, that's my name don't wear it out.

I personally wouldn't name my child that, but I don't believe a government department has a right to tell someone they can't name their baby whatever they want.

Originally they called him Andrew Peacock and they didn't clue on until they started calling him Drew for short.

I think they are idiots...

Besides since when have numbers been included in naming kids...unless it James ll or something like that...as in James the second...it's just stupid...

LMAO Me too Di, I didn't catch on until I saw it written as droopy c*ck! LMAO

I think names like 4real are ridiculous. And don't get me started on unnecessary and weird spellings of otherwise normal names!:uhno:
I understood there is a law against naming your child anything offensive or potentially harmful (or stupid?)
I heard, years ago, about someone, I think it was in America, wanting to name their child the alphabet. Not as in Alphabet Jones, but as in Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz Jones......If I remember correctly it wasn't permitted.
Coco, Fifi Trixiebelle, Peaches and Apple (among others) are pretty awful names (imo) but they aren't really weird, just odd choices for names.

I agree that people should have a right to choose a name they are happy with, but it really is not a fair name for the child in the long run. I am so tired of hearing parents say that it will make their child stronger, etc. Does the child want to be stronger? No! They want to fit in with everyone else. Being a kid/teenager is hard enough without having to deal with a crazy name on top of everything else. Throw these parents into a school playground for a week, make sure they witness the bullying and tears, and then see if they are still so adamant.
