Hi,
When you poach pears how ripe or firm should the pears be? I assume that you don't use the rock hard ones.

no idea sorry Kekka i have never poached pears i did poach eggs a few times years ago but i can't remember how to do that either lol

Not dumb at all....if you've never cooked them before.
When I poach pears, I use ones that are just right for eating...squishier ones are hard and messy to peel, and never hold their shape when cooked...I usually end up mashing them and putting in muffins or the like.
I would imagine that rock hard ones would have no flavour...and probably take a lot longer to poach.
