It might sound corny, but each year I buy myself a Christmas gift to celebrate a signifcant achievement.

This year it will be to acknolwedge getting past my fear about starting my own little business.

I do this each year so that I can celebrate 'me'. quite often i think as females we put others needs and wants.

I try and make my gift something that I can I treasure for a long time, so when I look at it I am reminded of that years success.

Does anyone else do something similar?

I was going to buy myself something this year - but the bills piled up - I haven't even got something for DH :(

No just wait for the sales and then get myself a digital camera...that is my one thing this year...for me

I always buy myself a present cause I don't tend to get much from anyone else.

This year I bought myself a new mobile phone to replace the one that was stolen and I also got the new Madonna CD and The Day After Tomorrow DVD.

Zac gave me some money he had saved up to get myself somethuing and I got two other DVD's, Finding Neverland and Sweet Home Alabama and I also got a beautiful glass paperweight.

Now that's he's that little bit older, I'm going to get him to go shopping on his own next year because I think it's important to teach them to show they care about people enough to go to the trouble.

I can remember going Christmas Shopping when I was a kid. Mum & Dad would give us some money (they'd play bank during the year with our pocket money) and we would buy gifts for our siblings & parents, it was a lot of fun :)

Nat "bought" a present for Zac & Daddy this year. He was so excited he was giving something too. He also made presents for his grandparents.

Hubby and I don't really buy presents for each other, but while we were doing our Chrissy shopping we picked up a hot chocolate set ( mugs, choc, marshmallows etc) so we decided to put it under the tree with a card " to Dean and Mel from Mel and Dean" everybody got a bit of a giggle out of it.:Hehe:

We don't usually buy presents for each other either. Usually by the time we have finished shopping there isn't anything left.
Jake has been nagging for a PSP for months (worse than a bloody kid) He has been working so hard lately, christmas was his first day off in nearly 2mths. I let him buy one. He felt guilty then, and said I had to buy something. So I bought myself an iriver (like an ipod but better :P)
Think we'll have to keep buying presents for each other now, I like the idea LOL

Absolutely! I buy myself gifts all the time. I also receive gifts from my sister and mother. My hubby and my brothers are hopeless when it comes to gift-giving!
