July, do you remember you recommended me "cross stitch" by diana galbadon? I read the first few pages of it at the library remembering your recommendation, then skip to the very last few pages. Sorry, the style of writing doesn't suit me, it is very femine, well that's not the word I wanted to use, but for the time being anyway.

Why did Claire Randal ended up with Jamie and not Frank, her husband?

You cheat! LMAO I've read one of her books and I also found teh style tiresome but was curious about the story line :) I think the point is - so she could write a novel set in the past? LOL

Tiresome! That's is precisely the word I was looking for.

Still though, do you know the answer to my question?

No - I read a later one and she was with Jaimie. Can't remember if it mentioned exactly why she wasn't with hubby , but I remember I had the impression he wasn't a nice character. I spent most of the book wondering how she got back in the past in the first place - only to discover it was a sequel LOL

:D :D Good one. In Cross Stitch , didn't Claire found a sacred place while honeymooning in Britain and somehow went to the past. Maybe Galbaldon should get some ideas from JK Rowling before she starts writing Cross Stitch :D

Can't believe she ditched him on her honeymoon! That's bad :D Then again, she had an adult daughter in the one I read - and the daughter and her hubby were going there (or maybe they'd been and were trying to get back). Now I'm intrigued and will need to read the whole series just to find out! LOL Aaaargh!!! Can't do that to myself :D

:D :D Poor you for finishing the sequel whereas I saved myself from torture by just reading a few pages from the front and from the back.:D

I just can't bring myself to do that... feels like cheating - sad I know :D I wonder if I can google it and find out the answer?
