What brand of washing powder does everyone use? Which ones do you find to be the best.
There are so many brands available on the shelves, it's hard to know which one to pick.
Also the stain removers and soakers. I do not need to use them as often now the boys are older, but when I do, it seems I am buying the wrong one.

I used to use the Amway washing powder.
Then went through a phase of trying every washing powder on the market to try and get rid of that sweaty smell from Trev's clothes. Found Bio Zet to be the most successful and have stuck to using that since. I don't like those highly fragranced detergents, I can always tell when someone has washed their clothes with Dynamo. LOL

HAHA well I don't use Dynamo. I use whatever is on sale or is cheapest. I don't use powder cus my machine seems to hate it, so its the 3L cheapo. I usually put OH's clothes on a soak. I am not too fussed on all that pre-soak stuff..

I used to use Amway too- until I worked out that was causing my skin to come out in itchy rashes everywhere.
I have now used Spree for years- its pretty cheap- cleans well and most importantly NO itchies.
i also use napi san to soak- especially for the kids grey er white school socks lol

We use omo sensitive - DH has sensitive skin and gets rashes with nearly any other brand. I know, because a few times I've tried different (cheaper) detergents, and he always ends up itchy and rashy. Grrr.
Oh, and Napisan Oxyaction for whites and soaking.

Have you tried Spree- I used to get rashes too and I've been using it for years now with no problems and its a bit cheaper than most of them

I alternate between OMO and Fab, which ever is on special that week.
I then follow it up with a good drentching of Fabric softner, I am a bit of a softner junkie. I use it unmade up (shhh, don't tell FIL, he'd kill me LOL)
Katelyn now picks which flavour we buy for the week. We stand at the shelves and hand them to her, she gives them a good sniff, and either says "Mmmm, it's nice" or "itsuck" She pickes a different one each week LOLOL. Jake thinks were both freaks
I use OMO, I think mostly out of habit. Sometimes I'll use Fab or Radiant too. During our holidays I bought Fab lavender and loved the smell LOL so might just buy some of that next shop LOL.
I use Cuddly fabric softenter.
Always have a pkt of that stuff for colour run accidents on hand as well as the trusty Napisan for stains :)

Does anyone out there have a front loader washing machine. What is your favourite washing powder for it?

My FIL has a front loader. He is a white goods mechanic, so he fixes/installs washing machines and the like. He uses the OMO made for frontloaders.
How do you find yours Wendy. I wouldn't own one, but they do a great job of washing! I am always throwing last minute things in as its filling up. His wash cycles take and hour! Be no good to me when I have forgotten to do the kids uniforms at 7am LOL

I find front loading washers great, but you have to be careful when you buy one that it has short cycles on it as well as the others.. You get used to not being able to put clothes in once it is washing, they just go through to the next load. My loads take about 40 min.

I have a top loader but find my washing never comes as clean as what it used to when I was living with some housemates who had a front loader. It could be to do with the cruddy laundry liquid I use however. Will have to try out this Biozet. Is it cost efficient?

Dunno is BioZet if it is one of the cheaper washing detergents around. I guess if it works for someone they would tend to stick to it, like me.
My mum has been as Omo user for as long as I can remember and that's a long time LOL

I should have bought Biozet today as it was on special but decided on Radiant.. have not tried it before so this will be a trial. Do people prefer liquid or powder in their top loaders or no preference??

Bio Zet is the one I use, sometimes I buy something that is on special just to see if I can find another powder that is as good as Bio Zet, however I always go back to Bio Zet, can't stand any of the highly perfumed washing powders.

Tide has a new detergent out that works great at getting your whites white. I've only used it a couple of times when I did wash with a friend. I think it's called "mountian" something. I have to go pick some up next time I'm in town. I'll post the correct name then. I loved how my clothes turned out, and they smelled really great too! :D

I forogt.. if you don't like, or can't use the perfumed detergents.. Ajax liquid dish soap ( a little does a lot) and a 1/4 cup of vinigar does wonders as well.
